That extension sounds like it'll be the best way to go. Even if somehow it managed to get loose, it would still be functional.

The jack is glued in, now, and it actually seems pretty secure. I'll let people choose whether or not they want the extension - it will add $2 more to the price.

But... the first Kupid production model is DONE! Pics below.




It's all tested and works fine. ^_^ I just need to get the address from Ix and whatnot, then I can send it.

I need to fill in all the technical details in the Mag wiki, which will include a lot more detailed info (I might release the source code, too; to make Kupid completely open-source).

wow man, this is really complex- but its a great idea. hope you sell a bunch you could probably buy a copyright and start a buissness too- i might tell some of my friends obout this when you have the prepay ready.

I just thought of something.

Kupid is programmed based on RPGM1's fastest cursor speed, right? You should make sure to remind people of that, otherwise it's performance is gonna get really odd.

It actually doesn't matter what speed you set the cursor speed setting to. Kupid is just as fast on the slowest speed as it is on the highest.

I can confirm the following:

KUPID is awesome.
KUPID DOES work on a PS1.
I would kill a man for a KUPID character buffer.

the keyboard port on the back of the controller is kind of awkward. But now that I think about it, I would reason that the main purpose of it is to only attach it when you want to type. So it doesn't really matter.

Yeah; it is a bit awkward. But the bottom of the controller is the only part that is flat - all the other available surfaces are rounded. On a rounded surface, it would be impossible to mount the PS/2 jack.

For the future models I think that the easiest way would be to add an extension cable that comes out of the side of the controller, and connects to the keyboard. That way it would be impossible for the jack to fall in to the controller, it would be easier for me to drill the plastic, and it would just be better overall.

Also, y'all might want to have a regular controller beside you to use for regular RM stuff, because KUPID stutters occasionally when going through other options. It's not super horrible, but if you like going super-fast through the options, it might pay off.

The controller did that even before I modded it. Kind of weird, but it is a cheap third-party controller. :P

I haven't forgotten about Kupid. I'm pretty busy with a lot of stuff, so it might be delayed a bit. But, I am working on something....
