Sejon's Art Dump (Update: Children's Book Illustrations!)
I like the head to the right. Really takes away the angularity of the last complete mockups head, which seems to flow well with the rest of the design.
I thought it was obvious that the city actually becomes 3-dimensional and isn't merely a chalk drawing. That's pretty much the whole point of my picture.
No, actually i get it just fine, but i think it has gone over your heads. I know it is a style thing and all but it does NOT look 3D like it is coming out of the ground. Now I wouldn't do this normally (drawing on your art sej) but this is a visual explanation of what I was saying. Sorry for the sloppy quick sketch.
see now it looks like the buildings have actually sprouted from the concrete.
I purposely didn't give the buildings 3-dimensional form. They originally had form in the sketch version, but with the final I made them all 2-D (but perpendicular rather than parallel to the walkway) on purpose, to look like paper cutouts standing on end, so to speak, to continue with the theme that they're a drawing "sprouting from the ground".
I had no idea I even needed to explain this. All of my classmates got it from the get-go and said it was a nifty stylistic choice.
It's a possibility that it will be an actual magazine cover. I believe they'll be selecting two different cover designs from people in my class and publishing both.
I just have to compete against 15 other students and see if I win. Bleeeh!

Yeah, that's pretty much exactly what I got out of it. I also think it's a neat stylistic choice.
