It makes sense.

It wouldn't sell on PS3 or 360. It'd be too expensive to make.

3DS makes it nice and portable (eeee~), which is where the series is now anyway (on PSP, in Japan) and gives the game way, way more exposure on a new high-profile piece of hardware. People will pay attention to it. Unlike on PS360 where Call of Duty: Iraqi Assbangers or whatever will steal all the thunder.

At least, that's my theory :V
