Half a dozen problems exist with organic space travel. Distance not included.

Yeah, but it's interesting to read about the possible ways to get there. One of my favs is constructing a giant ring out of anti-mater, here and one at the other end. Then use the two rings to open up a wormhole for interstellar travel. But how are we suppose to build the one at the other end? That's the problem NASA faces.

It's not like NASA isn't working on it or anything, it's simply that with our current understanding of physics, even the most theoretically viable (BIG emphasis on theoretical) methods of FTL are well beyond our technology.

Subluminal travel has all those problems with relativity as one approaches c, and of course there's the whole issue of time invovled.
