I haven't even started yet. I think I have misplaced my motivation somewhere.

10K words. If I can keep up a 2K pace every day, I'll be easily able to take a break once a week and relax, so I don't wholly burn myself out with all my free time spent writing. It's just nice to have caught up and surpassed, because I was really concerned I wouldnt' be able to handle the load along with my normal schedule this year.

Re: NaNoWriMo 2009 - Five Days In

Previously, I had pondered entering this year.

Only now, on the 6th of November, do I remember my commitment.

Being behind already, and uncertain as to which idea to use, I think the only thing I could do is to start rambling off some idea or other - start something and go with it. If I can motivate myself for it, I might have some fun... probably won't get the full 50,000 words, but who knows.

Just getting started is usually the hardest. Once you can make a daily commitment, you should be solid, even if you don't get all the way done. At least you'll try.

I started late as well, (yesterday) but I hope that I can at least get close to the 50k word mark.

And I'm behind again. Stupid all weekend partying and nerding out.

About 700 words behind now, at 14,590 words. Just finished Chapter 3 and started on Chapter 4. The scope of Something More's sequel is a bit larger than I was initially intending, but I think it'll work out nicely. It would be much nicer to be two days ahead when the weekend rolls around so I can ignore it and just waste away the weekend hours. I doubt I'll get that far ahead, though.

I'm excited, getting to explore hinted at ideas in the first novel. It's also darker in tone than the original, and maybe just as dark as some of the later writing I did for the CWS3.

I'm at about 13k, which is pretty decent for being out of town for about 4 full days for band. Still don't really know where I'm going with it, but all I know for sure is that there will be sneaking across the border if I ever have writers block.

17,022 words as of tonight. Once again caught up, and I'm surprising myself by how dark the tone is getting. It won't stay that way forever, at least I don't think it will, but man, it's pretty dark right now, and it'll get darker before it gets lighter.

i really wanted to do this but im so busy lately that i just dont have the time. the amount of distractions in my life right now make it a terrible environment to write in. i have a book that ive wanted to stay for a number of years now but only have write a first chapter (which i scrapped unsurprisingly).

i wish everyone luck in this. if i feel creative and decide to write enough to catch up then ill be in.

Thank you Ωbright for the sig fix!

It's just that, aside from a few spots in the original novel, the story itself was designed to be relatively light in tone, but the more I flesh out the world in the sequel, and realize what I will probably have to change/fix in the original, it's gonna be a pretty gritty and heartbreaking venture when it's all said and done.

Good luck everyone. I was going to do it this year, but I've had mono for about two months now and as such my free time is mostly spent laying around like a slug. No creative juices flowing at all...Sigh.

Today's the halfway marker for this little shindig, and the cursed weekend has left me woefully behind once more.

I'm at 22K words and need 25K. 25.5K since I've been making sure to at least hit 1700 words a day. I unfortunately did not manage to get any more than simply caught up before the weekend, so it's like two full days of writing I'm trying to catch up on now.

I'm in the midst of writing a pretty neat dream sequence, though. =D
