    Re: RPGM4 Wishlist

I think that their should just be a gigantic upgrade in variety as a whole... More buildings/people/monsters/items/weapons/color tones/etc.

Also i think that we should be able to decide if we want little 2D pictures doing the cut scenes... maybe we want something simple like the people talking to just have a preset convo right there without any "amazing cut scene"

Someday the ability for the people and stuff to talk...

The animal characters... Maybe they should have genders as well

Fix the field map editor... make the terrain better and let us raise the water level

Kill the character and town/field limits... limits=gay

Listen to thestormweaver and let us use as much memory as we want damnit!!!

One thing they should impliment is making the game render only what the player sees, and not the entire area(Cant remember what this is called)

Example, if you create a complicated dungeon and try to play it, it slows down the game extremely, thats because the system draws the entire map of whats behind the wall also, even if you cant see it.

I think this is a hardware issue though, and not a software issue

            Re: RPGM4 Wishlist

it's a hardware issue. normal games can stream info off the disc. RPG Maker doesnt have that luxury, as your custom areas are not stored on the disc. they're a memory card file, so everything has to be loaded at once since it's not possible to play a game while the system is accessing the memory card.

              Oh ok, thanks Valk

Im assuming theres no way to fix that in future RPG Makers either, and the more complicated they get, the more this type of thing is going to happen

Isn't that why they made 3 able to install on a HD? I don't have a ps2 HD, but doesn't it replace the memory card for loading data? Does it cut down on choppyness at all?

I bought a PS2 HDD for $11.00 on closeout at my work. Unfortunately, you need the network adapter in order to use it. I'd seen these at my work on closeout a year or so ago for about $13, but never had a need for one back then, so I didn't buy it. Now that I need one, all I can find them for is $50+ on Amazon and ebay. Kinda defeats the purpose of buying the HDD for so cheap when I'm gonna need to invest another $50 in order to use it.

If RPGM4 comes out any time soon, it should be for PS2and PS3. I want its dungeon editor like RPGM3.

They need to make it multi-platform, none of this Sony-exclusive or microsoft-exclusive stuff

As great as it would be to have a Maker no matter which console I buy (and based on what's happened so far, I think the American RPG/Creative crowd is going to split a lot more evenly between Sony and Microsoft this generation), wouldn't this make it impossible for someone to play any of the games created using a different console? That would be a real waste of peoples' talent.

How is it that different from what we already have(RPGM on PS2 and PC) then PS# and XBOX?

If you ask me its kind of pointless to have one on XBOX since Microsoft already has a PC version

The PC line is much, much different in nature compared to the console versions. It's nothing like a cross-platform game, at least the way I see it.

Either way, the next RPGM is going to be extremely customizeable, especially with the ability to download content, if they dont make it so you can make 3D(assuming the next RPGM will be 3D) items to share over the internet theyre not very smart...that would create a much bigger fanbase having that ability.

Multiplatform isn't advantageous because it's not a game with a huge market, and it's more economical to localize for one console. And of course, you can't share games between consoles either.
