Re: Diary of the Betrayer Chapter 1: Returning to the World

"By Idol's beard, there's a secret passage under us too?" I say.

I lift up a heavy chunk of floor tiles, as I see a huge tunnel system below.

"Looks like we've found our escape." I say to the others as I jump down into the little passageway.

It smells like dead perses that had been under here for ages, disgusting. It is almost like that stink bait I used, except even worse.

Re: Diary of the Betrayer Chapter 1: Returning to the World

I'm still feeling amused (if pleased) at the nickname "Waves" when my thoughts are interrupted by the floor opening up, and a rather young human girl popping up out of the opening, presumably to help us escape.

I'm just barely lean enough to fit through certain parts of the narrow passageway; a lot of Drem would find themselves stuck. Three or four minutes pass as we crawl through the dank tunnel, and I can't help but wonder who this girl is or what she has to do with Miles. Or why she would want to help us.

"What are you doing here?" comes my question, in a hushed voice.

After his recent expedition into Mile's bedroom, Spirit is reluctant to follow any strange human women into anywhere dark. After getting over his initial trepidation, however, he quickly takes the rear, and keeps a sharp ear out for Miles approach.

Re: Diary of the Betrayer Chapter 1: Returning to the World

I suddenly hear Miles raging upstairs in his home.

"When I find those pigs, i'll smash them to pieces! First they wreck my home, and now they steal by items! Grahh!" Miles shouts in a booming voice.

Afterwards I hear a huge smash from his area, he must have pounded the ground during his tantrum.

"Stealing his items?" I say. "What WERE you doing up there?"

OOC: Does this mean Miles may turn into one of the main villains?

OOC: Didn't matter if he is a hero or villain, Red, Spirit was gonna stab the capital D Dooshbag right in the mouth, ribs, arms, and wherever else he could reach.

"Stealing his items?...", I respond, completely unaware of the gem that Spirit snatched, "...well, I grabbed a couple of plants I can use to help bind our wounds."

"He's responsible for them, after all," I justify my action after a couple seconds of silence.

It didn't take long for the group to follow the strange woman's lead. After all, not many people want to become flattened like pancakes. Miles can be heard shouting all sort of unflattering things while pounding away at something. Nobody is quite stupid enough to investigate that. Redeye questions what ther others were doing up there and the only one to respond is Ghalynn.

"What were we doing? I hardly know what we are doing now."

Which, of course is less than helpful. Wavelength doesn't even hear the question with all that is runnning through his head. The point bothering him the most is simply the woman luring them into a dark hole. So of course he speaks his mind to inquire about her intentions. She responds promptly.

"As you can see, Master has a bit of a temper. We've tried work on that since he was a kid, but it didn't exactly work. I guess he has some daddy issues. Anyway, while we serve him it is by orders of Lord Idol and so your deaths wouldn't exactly benefit us. I'll calm talk him down a bit later, but it is for the best that the lot of you are long gone before then."

Daddy issues, eh? I suppose that is quite true. The only one he ever considered his father is someone you recently met. He raised Miles until the age of 14 and dropped him off at this planet to serve me. I guess he never forgave him for that. Oh well, ancient history. I suggest doing as the young lady says. Unless if you all want to die then rush back to Miles as quickly as possible!

"So now that we've completed our first of many trials, what should we do next?" I ask. "We don't know where to look for the other forgotten gods, and the fact that equipment and items are very scarce in a place like this... I'd suggest we'd stop at the closest civilization we can find."

I immediately see light coming from the other end of the tunnel. We're approaching the exit, and back into the barren wasteland. In the distance I can see a big city, with a huge castle in the center. The great city of trade, Genile.

"How convenient..." I say. The others find it suspicious that i'm trying to get us to arrive at a town, though I have my reasons. Preparation, since I feel my side destiny is approaching very quickly. Once we reach the city my first milestone will be reached.

OOC: Speaking of the castle, there is something I would like to remark about my character's ark to you, Jamos. A bit of an edit to my story.

OOC: It was Memorial Day weekend so I can understand the inactivity of the others. However, by tomorrow I'm pressing on. I have lots of things planned so I would like to get to them quickly. Also, Redeye editing a post made days earlier to tell someone to keep things moving isn't really a good idea. Who's going to know it's there? No one would fault you for a double post in that case.

((OOC: I was honestly a little confused how to proceed after I answered Redeye's question, then you stated I didn't even hear the question. But either way, I just don't have a ton to add this moment anyhow - it's a pretty calm, if atmospheric escape, and Redeye has already stated what we're going to do next - so do feel free to press on.))

Also, I agree with Waves. Considering the scene, Myself or my character have nothing to say.

OOC: I thought it was more you responding to the rant than to Redeye so my bad. Oh and Redeye sorry, but I'm not going to have Genile that close. Don't worry, you will get there soon. I promise.

The ranting and raving of Miles eventually went silent, for the simple fact the group was too far away to hear them. The strange woman keeps her word and leads them all to the exit. It feels like ages since they've seen the sun making them blinded for a few seconds. Sure it is great to finally see daylight, but the reality that they are back in the freaking desert hits hard. The heat is unbarable... did it get even hotter?! The woman steps aside, pretty much saying this is as far as she goes. A few steps further and the lot see a very familiar face. Ende somehowis standing before the group with that smirk on his face again.

"Took you all long enough. How long are you going to keep an old man waiting, huh?Wev'l'luun you really shouldn't have broke that mirror. You see there are only three of them and Miles was pretty proud of having it. On second thought, maybe that might snap some sense into him. He is so self-centered and has to have everything. He is such a royal pain in the ass. Honestly those women did a terrible job after I dropped him off on this dirt ball. Fulfilling his every desire instead of his needs. Whatever, I simply drop these kids off to these places to serve Idol. Anything pass that isn't my concern. Oh, the reason I'm here waiting for the lot of you. Once the girls calm him down his orders are to direct you towards places of interest. As for now, you lowly mortals are practically naked. You can probably grab some gear at that Genile place that moronic youth is so content on going to. I believe it is Northwest of here, however, first you are going to the small naroquian town of Treb. It is several miles west of here and trust me, you want to go there first. There you will witness the reality of the paths you have chosen. This will be most amusing."

Ende walks away from the group chuckling once he reaches a further distance. Reality awaits at Treb. Are you ready for what you will find?

Re: Diary of the Betrayer Chapter 1: Returning to the World

"Hmph, typical remark from the likes of you. That must be where Miles got that attitude." I say once Ende throws in his little insult.

Yeah, calling someone a youth when that person is 17 years old, very infuriating.

"Treb... I have heard of that place once. I heard one time at least 20 people died in an unexpected sandstorm about 3 years ago. What a shame. Those Naroqs must be worried that another one might hit them."

It would be no guess that Spirit would be the most invited to the old village. Humans and Drem don't really have interesting relationships with Naroqs. Telling by 6 hours ago when Spirit almost ate my head off, me and Waves might not get an open-armed welcome any time soon.

A few miles isn't that far. As a group of four, we might be able to handle a couple packs of Perses. Maybe a few swarms of Uken would'nt be much of a problem either. And that special surprise coming up does not sound good. I then remember what that woman told me before I went out cold...

"Town to the west turns to ash as the pale warrior flicks his wrist. No life is safe in his wake and all hope comes to not..."

The pale warrior? The town to the west definitely sounds like Treb. With a flick of his wrist... and the town turns to ash? Does this mean Treb is going to collapse in fire? I don't know who might want to destroy the town, certainly not me. Besides, I got a bit of a tan going on ever since my little adventure in the desert way back.

Hopefully the crisis won't get us involved as suspects, but still, time can only tell what lies ahead of us for sure.

And with everything else, i'd might as well tell everyone why i'm so insistent about going to Genile once we reach there. Which will be very soon, I hope. Besides, I know why i'm doing what i'm doing. The others do not know, but soon enough they will know what i'm looking for, memories and destiny.

Spirit glares at the human. "Idiot... Monic youth indeed..." Then he turns to Ende and kneels. "He didn't mean it lord. He is angry that he issss no longer in control of hisss own desssstiny. Higher, sssstronger, and wissser powersss have digned to touch his life. He sssshould be greatful."

OOC: After that diplomatic stumble, I fully feel that we will all be burned to ash. Red, what you said, true or untrue, should not have been said to a super powerfull god who could kill you without effort. Had I been in Jamos's place as GM (And I often am.) You would be dead right now. I expect he will be mercifull this time ('Cuase he's a nice guy,), but please try not to insult people twice your level, else we all pay for it.

There was a list of the last comments of RPers, with stuff like "I take insult" "I give him the finger" "He couldn't hurt me" And, my favorite: "He does how much damage?!"

                                "Tch, I didn't need a Naroq's opinion anyways..." I whisper to myself.

It's not like Ende cares about the insults, he is still dominant, so he doesn't need comments that turn him down.

"We're not going to make any progress standing around and doing nothing. Let's get to Treb before anything nasty tries to make us dinner." I remark.

I look out at the hot desert, oh man, this is going to be a long day.
