The Pavilionite Biography Contest ends June 30th, but I want to stay on schedule, so the next contest starts today, and ends November 12th.

The theme is... two themes!

Well, two categories. First, there's "Anything Goes". and literally, anything goes. Any genre, any subject matter (within the rules). All legal RPG Maker software for console and PC are good.

The second category is a bit limited. It's strictly an RPGM1 contest. It's theme? Speedy RPG. again, any genre, any subject matter (within the rules), but your timers for system and scenario cannot exceed 30 hours each. and you are limited to just 1 system and 1 scenario card. No cheating the system. It's limited to RPGM1 because that's the only one that has a creation time stamp for each game.

Each category has their own prize, and you can enter both contests, and even win both.

Next, with the 10th anniversary thing.

This year we're going to be printing the first ever RPG Maker Pavilion Yearbook. I'm going to start gathering things to include in it starting today. All pavilion members are free to contribute to this. Essays, art, articles, shout-outs, whatever. The only content not allowed is promotion of games made with RPG Maker. This is strictly going to be about the community and people here. If people want to reminisce about games from the past, that's okay. How much will the book cost? it depends on page count. I'm hoping to keep it within 10-15 dollars, and we'll be giving some copies away as well.

The current cut-off date is August 25th. After that, I start assembling stuff, and get the book ready for print. The cut-off date may be extended if I find it neccesary. but the book will be released this year.

I'll try to have Cifer: The Awakening done for this contest. Sure, it's had very weird explanations and stuff, but I've looked the story over, and I hope it's good enough to stand up to top contenders.

Anything Goes, huh? Do you have any idea how long I've been waiting for a contest like this? Too bad I'm not working on Slayers' Reign, anymore. :P

I was actually thinking of updating my Calculator project and submitting it. But after opening it up, it's such a complicated mess that, without the notes to it, is almost impossible to figure out.

Technically it's an absolute marvel. Gameplay wise, not so much.

I'll try and get something done for one of the contests.

I've wanted to finish my RPGM1 game since I started it like 9 years ago, the problem is my non-functioning Dexdrive. If I decide to go ahead and finish the game, is there anyone that would be willing to upload the game for me?

You could mail me the memory card(s), and I'd do it. I would, of course, mail them back too.

I like the speedy RPG idea, I think I'll actually do that one.

Also I assume for the Speedy RPG that we are allowed to use Anime Maker as well? Just as long as we keep it down to 2 memory cards at the most, 1 for system 1 for scenario I'm sure we are allowed to fill empty blocks with Anime Maker data right?

I already know what I'm going to do for the contest and I'll probably start making it sometime soon.

Maybe I'll think up a way to finish up my old RPM1 Game for the "Anything goes" contest!
And try to think up something for the "30 hour" challenge....
I'll have to be careful with that one cuz often I just leave RPGM1 on for hours and hours...
I forsee alot of pre planning on paper, loading up quick, doing one thing, saving and exiting out again. lol.

Yeah, that's what I'm planning to do DreamerGuy.

I have the general flow of the story through my head and I'm putting it on paper now. I can keep things short but still the challenge is getting under those 30 hours. In fact I'm not even aiming for 30, I'm aiming for 10 and when I reach 10 I'm going to aim for under 20 so when I finally finish everything I need to do I have plenty of time for bug fixing and polishing my game.

You can always enter RPGM1 games in the anything goes contest.

I'm trying for the Speedy RPG contest though Valk. If there's no way I can make this game in under 30 hours I'll just submit it in Anything Goes but I'd rather try the Speedy RPG contest. I have a good knowledge of RPGM1 and it sounds like a nice challenge besides the idea I have isn't some grand epic adventure it will be a pretty short game but it tells a story.

ive been mulling over some small ideas for a while so perhaps ill launch one of those for a quick and dirty rpgm1 game.

Bleh, just as well that I'm not working on Slayers' Reign right now. Even dedicating two nights a week to it, I don't see it being possible to finish it in time. Rather a bummer, actually. I was somewhat considering it.
