Okay, so I'm into Chapter 3 now. I have no idea who is working for who, and every time a FMV comes up I'm like, "Okay, who are we running from and why is it a big deal?" I'm all about stories starting in media res, but I need a reason to root for someone. Snow and some guys are just shouting YEAH LET'S DO IT and I'm like DO WHAT?

You poke into the Datafile yet? It gives a fair amount of background and world information.

Off topic, and maybe only because I've only played the console Baldur's Gate games (Dark Alliance and DA2), but aren't even the PC Baldur's Gate games hack n slash? Hack and slash=action RPG.

The console games are a far cry from the D&D-based PC series.

As Mora said. The DA games aren't bad, but they're basically a D&D skinned Diablo. The PC games are a more traditional Western RPG, with a party of characters and real-time combat (various pausing options can make combat almost turn-based).

What is the point of having the ability to shop when they don't sell anything you would really need. Maybe later it gets important, but so far I haven't found anything the shop I haven't already found in a chest so far.

Still love FF13, and its better then FF12 was. To me, anyways.
