    Longest RPGM game

I'm asking primarily about RPGM 1, but am interested in RPGM 2 as well,

    Does anyone know:

(of course theres alot of variance in how people play games (slower/faster), but generally speaking...)

    A) What is the longest rpgm game? (and how long?)

    B) What is the largest Game, in terms of file size (refer to compressed size)
(Largest for RPGM 1?, Largest for rpgm 2?)

I saw a downloadable RPGM1 game on the site called The Black Ribbon. I think it was about 200 hours of gameplay or somthing. My memory is very fragile though, so I may be wrong.

black ribbon IS long. it probably is the longest game on the site, if not the largest overall. I've tried to play through it, but it takes forever. its a good game though. I just get distracted.

        It's likely that one.

Well, that's what I fear is becoming of my Monkey Brother game. Heck! It takes over 15 blocks of data just for the Monkey Village and the jungle! Hopefully, the game won't expand over 6 memory cards of data.

For the RPG Maker 1, the largest game in terms of file size, would have to be The Spiteful Dead. I swear, it takes over 10 memory cards of data. I just can't play this game, it's too large!

I think one of those cards takes 5 minutes to go through, in Spiteful Dead.

I ran out of memory and was unable to continue making anything for my RPGM2 game, Paladin, so mine probably uses up more memory than anyone elses (I hit the limit).

Oh my God, no! I could never make a game that long, and God knows I wouldn't want to.

200 hours? That would be a lotta work...

Yes that would (for the player), and it can be done so easily too.

Have it be over more than 1 file. You can carry character stats over, just copy the file, keep all original settings, but delete the events and maps, dungeons that you wouldnt plan to use, I have never done this myself, but I dont see how that wouldnt work. Or unless this is what you meant.

Edit: Example, lets just say, you save the game in world organization "room A". Then just tell the player to go on to file B. Then finish the game. and Then the player can load the next file.

How I would make a file 2. Delete all world organization except "Room A", then create on from there until you finish your game. Then when the player loads the second file, he will be in "room a." but he can continue on to the rest of the game. Sorry if my explanation sucks. But my next game may run out of space, and I am betting on this to work, never have tested it yet.

that will work... BUT the time needs to be the same on both files. which is hell to accomplish.

How can you even tell how much time you have put in?

He means the date of its last save. One thing I noticed too is every time you transfer the save with an X-Port (I assume the same for Max Drive, Shark Port, and the Save Converter here) the file gets saved. This can mean that it's easier to get the same time because you can download the files simultaneously or something, but it also means everyone else will have to do this too. With my 15 party members, 35 classes, ~300 abilities, and ~400 items I can't do a password to transfer data that way either.

you can change the PS2's clock settings to make it a bit easier getting the times lined up.

                              Re: Longest RPGM game

I chose not to fight it.

In The Clean Underwear Quest I just reset everybody to level one and stole all their possessions.

I used a "Beer Vortex" to teleport them at the end of the first file and that got the party drunk and served as an excuse to have them reset at the start of the next.

It is contrived, but it works.

                              I like contrivances.

                              In moderatrion.

                              Peace.

                              MOO!
