despite my best efforts i finally decided that to continue making my castlevania mini game would only just frustrate and delay crystal shores from happening. its difficult to just scrap anything that youve put 10's of hours into but the game must go forward. the mini game was eating up a lot of memory that i really needed elsewhere plus it wasnt entirely as i envisioned. after a set of particularly difficult parts i decided to scrap it and move on.
what will replace it will be better story sequences, more character development, and a few better detailed dungeons (more fun maps too). i realized that i am good at two things, writing a good story and building interesting maps. i will be focusing more towards these ends and leave the overly complex stuff for standalone games. if i cant do it in 10k memory then i wont bother.
as for progress i am moving along slowly, trying to balance my busy schedule with revamping the 2nd card. ive also developed the plot of the 3rd card, though i really need to sit down and decide what i am going to do to realize it. with the revamping of the story i should be able to generate the backstory needed to push this 3rd card. i really want to release something to show you just what ive been up to so wait and see. it wont be a demo but more of a check it out type of thing. though with my computer on the fritz i will have to wait until i can get my game off the hard drive or im not going anywhere.
i really should sit down and rewrite the plot so i can focus more on building the next steps rather then trying to create as i go.
coincidently ive had great success building my tekken style mini game, so much so that i may release it as a stand alone game. i am thinking of creating all the characters in anime maker and seeing what i can do there. no guarantees though it will be nice to take a break from my regular game to produce something very different.
i guess i really just want to generate interest in my game since i feed off of peoples responses. i am making this game mainly for myself but i would like others to enjoy it too and their imput is always refreshing.
