    Re: contests?

It just seems to me that a lot of people get overwhelmed with all there is to do in making a game. If they could just pick one aspect and focus on it, I think a lot of people might be pleased with the result. Not only that, but they might find that their map for the contest inspires them to build a game around it. I know that's happened to me...I almost gave up on my first game before I had some maps I was happy with.

      Re: contests?

I'd host a short game contests, but:

      1. I'd like to submit
      2. I only have RPGM3, so unless we just focus on RPGM3. Or I could be a judge for just RPGM3.
      3. I don't think I'd be the best judge either.

Anyways any next contest I can, besides garbage I am going to submit a short game. Unless, the rules specifically disallow the game.

I think whom ever has been at the pavilion longest and has the most experience with rpg maker games would be the best judges. I would love to submit a game I made into a contest.
I would be happy just to have anyone play a game I make.

          Re: contests?

Like Obright was saying focusing on one aspect of the game souds like a good idea. In the few games I've played so far the one thing that seems common is a lack of detailed towns because of memory constraints. I think a town making contest would be fun so we can see what all is possible. Not to mention it wouldn't take too much time. Just kind of a fun little idea.

My second idea... What is one of the biggest complaints about RPG 3? The battles!!! I thought if every one who wanted to enter make a 5-10floor dungeon. Each floor would have a different opponet to face. The goal would to see who makes each of the fights the most interesting and fun. You could have mutipal playable characters and even a story, but the judging would come down to the fights themselfs.

I think this would help everyone at the pav... Well at least the ones who play RPG 3. We hear people talk about the battles all the time. How they suck and how they made them fun. This would give us a chance to practice what we preech. I think if we showed what the system can do to it's fullest other people would start to look at what it can do more then what it can't do.

Again this is just an idea, but if you want to comment on what you think please do. This may never come to be But I thought it was worth sharing.

Well the thing is that some poeple may be really good at some aspects of the game ... and really bad at other aspects, i think the world map idea is awesome... and the dungeon/fight one is intriguing
