Abstract the Origin - Hip Hop and Chiptunes

Super necroing an older post (seems to be the thing these days).
Let me know if I should just make a new thread, but thought I'd just update this one with the new places I post music. SoundClick is garbage. Long live SoundCloud (sorta)!

I also have a Bandcamp that I haven't fully taken advantage of yet, but it's got some tracks you won't find on my Soundcloud page.

Let me know what ya'll think. Once I get some equipment issues sorted, I'll be able to make more music, and start to take requests for anyone who needs music. I'm trying to expand my horizons a bit and see how I can grow by collaborating a bit more with folks outside my mindset.

Re: John Shinagi - SoundClick. -NEW SONG-

    New song available!

It's a track unreleased but belongs on my album, "Energy".

    Gotta love bonus tracks.

Check out my SoundClick profile at the first post of this topic
or in my signature to listen to the song.

"The Vanishing Nightmare" is a song I've been working on
for quite some time to get the mood right.

Hopefully you will all enjoy! Leave comments/feedback if you feel like it.

Your music reminds me of a more tame version of this album: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/In_Sides

However, In Sides also makes me feel completely uncomfortable if I listen to it all in one sitting. So it's probably a good thing that it only reminds me of that album and doesn't sound like it.

Your 8-bit style sounds fairly good. It comes off to me that you are creating 8-bit music well, but there's only so much you can achieve with that. I think you need to expand on what you're doing, and make more out of this. Possibly add natural sounds and vocals or lyrics of some sort? And as far as that goes it could be some movie quote, for lyrics.

Muse though a Brit Rock band has also created music of what you could achieve.

You have some potential to make some great music, if you build of these foot-steps.

That's my two cents at least.

The beginning reminds me of a cutscene from a Ninja Gaiden game, and then it progresses into something else, and frankly, there just isn't an NES game I can associate with it.

It's a really unique mix. My only suggestion is that you turn down the bass a tiny smidge, as there are some areas where the instrumental is "blown." Keep up the good work, and I hope that when my creativity juice starts flowing again, I can finish up that collaboration.

Well, I actually do more than just 8-Bit Music. I also compose
and arrange Hip Hop, R&B and Jazz tracks as well.
You'll see what I'm talking about when my next
album is released later this year.

On the subject of Vocals and Lyrics, I've never been one for words
to be perfectly honest. So I am slowly collaborating with other artists
such and Bonanza here to add lyrics and vocals to my instrumentals.

I like to let the music speak for me.

Thank you for the comments though! I will continue to build on
what I have done in the past and try and step things up.

If you heard songs from when I was first starting out, and listen
to what I produce now, you'd see how much better I am at it
          than when I first started.

If the song did that, then I say I accomplished when I wanted with
          the song in question.

If some parts of the song seem "blown out", you might wanna get better
          speakers. :P

Thank you for your comments guys! I appreciate them!

Keep checking in on my SoundClick profile as I will upload my next album,
"Abstract Theory" to it. It is a mix of Hip Hop and R&B tracks.
It will also be available as a free download.

Well, I've uploaded a track from my upcoming September album release,
            "Abstract Theory".

The album is a collection of mellow Hip Hop/R&B tracks
with a hint of chiptunes in a couple of tracks.

The song uploaded is called "More Than Reality".

I always like comments as long as they are -constructive-.

Either way, I hope you all enjoy the song!

To listen to it, just head to my SoundClick page link in the first post.

              Very chill.

I looked at the MP3 in cooledit. It's not blown out, but I think I know what Bon is talking about. Maybe? There's a kind-of blown-sounding bass voice toward the end. It's just part of that voice though, I think. Idunno, it works fine for me.

Thanks for the comment! I want to bring
mellowness to Hip Hop instead of malice and tension.

Cause we all need a break from those aspects from time to time.

To comment on "the Vanishing Nightmare", the bass part is weird.

You're right, it's not blown out, but that Bass part is just odd.

I'll be releasing another track sometime next month before release!

Hey guys! I have uploaded one more track from my upcoming
                  September album!

"The Next Stage" is a Hip Hop blended 8-Bit styled track
that should either get you grooving or at least
                  imagining some cool scenes.

As always, feel free to leave comments.
If you have a SoundClick account feel free to join my fan base.

Kumo, I liked your album alot, its full of relaxing music and i especially like the song "never secondary" (singer sounds like someone on this site hmmm.)

You make really good beats and really good tunes. keep on makin em!

Now i really hate criticizing but the *bu bu tat* beats kind of sound the same in a few songs. Now its not a bad thing since the rest of the instruments make up for that and i know this isnt a super proggy type of music you are making, but them gangsta backround beats get kind of boring sometimes.
Ga ga ga ga ga ga ga ga gao gai gar!

I hear you on the drum beats.

It's hard to make a beat that doesn't sound like every other drum beat before it.

The DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) I use, FL Studio, has lots and lots
of pre-made drum beats and loops in it.

You will be glad to know that I do not use any of them.
These patterns were made from scratch.

I think the "samey"-ness of the drum beats come from my rehash of
certain progressive drum beat patterns I use in my songs.

Just to note, that I tend to use a snare on every 2 and 4 beat
to try and keep the song synced and in time with each other.

That said, I am always working to try and bring something new to the table,
                            and appreciate your feedback.

In other news, I am working on more music, but not really album stuff.

I'm thinking of putting myself out there and make music for anyone
that needs music for a project. I'm gonna aim for videogames, but
I think I'd be willing to do any project.

Re: John Shinagi - SoundClick. -New Album Coming Soon-

I will soon be releasing a compilation album of odds and ends
that I've come up with since my last album.

A single should be out within the next couple of weeks
as I prepare and get everything in order.

As always, I will be releasing the album on Sound Click
                              for streaming and free download.

                              That is all!

For those that haven't listened to my last two albums,
go ahead and give em a try and let me know what you think!
