Re: My first, unfinished, and untitled album (Deciding songs and looking for an artis

So after talking to Toasty last night, I've been kicking around the idea of making a second album and leaving the first with a Final Fantasy majority, but I dunno. I'm looking for some input here: what are your feelings on the setlist and the amount of Final Fantasy songs I have listed so far?

      Ker-bump.

I got my new computer tuesday and got all my recordin' stuff set up earlier today. The project's going to be moving along at a much faster pace. Probably 25 times what it was going at, depending on how much spare time I have.

I'm trying to figure out an album title and would love some ideas for that. Oh, and I'm still looking for artists. Den said he'd help, but I'm going to need art for a cover, the disc, and the insert/back/random crap. Any takers? :3

I think this is actually a great idea. If you want to get out into the music industry even something like this is a good start to get out there. I've always wanted to do something like this too, but I don't know if I have the patience and skill required.

For a song suggestion I'd say the Banjo and Kazooie theme song. It's badass on guitar. It's not 100% original, but theres nothing wrong with that. I've even found a few guitar tabs for it.

        http://www.gametabs.net/nintendo-64/...oie/main-theme

^ Might take some pratice lol

^ This is the best example I can find of what it might sound like.

P.S. This is some cover Muse does live I'm not sure its origin but it sounds very video game-ish.

Maybe I'm missing the mark and thinking you mean arcade sounding because it appears as if you went more RPG type songs.

        EDIT:

If you can get past our differences I could possibly help you with album art. I guess we'd have to talk about it first.

I offered to pay people for what I needed and only got three offers. =V Good luck.

Muse, that song above is Popcorn by Perrey-Kingsley. They did a bunch of early electronic synth stuff back in the late 60s.

Thanks. I knew it was titled "Popcorn", I never knew who did the original version. However it reminds of gaming out to like Rally-X, Pac Man and Galatica. lol.

Alrighty, tiem to update the track listing a bit. I'm going to be adding the Main Theme from Morrowind to the album.

ANYONE GOT ANY FEEDBACK ON THIS EARTH-SHATTERING DECISION?

Re: An Overdose of Final Fantasy. (Still Looking for Artists and song suggestions)

A bit late, but I only recently got back to the Pavilion...

I think - if you are still updating the track list - that you need a Chocobo Theme Mix! That music was the only unifying theme across all of the early Final Fantasy Games (that, and somebody named Cid) (and probably more that I just missed in my blind obliviousness).

And consider a cover of the Tetris Music from the old game boy version. Classic stuff there, and a catchy tune too.

Either way, good luck with it!

                  MOO!

MY LIFE IS A SPIRALING BLACK PIT OF SORROW AND DESPAIR.

Also, I'm too much of a perfectionist to ever get a recording that meets my standards with what I've got.

I don't want to scrap the project, but at the same time a combination of my perfectionism and inability to flawlessly record the tracks I've picked with my set-up is really affecting my morale.

What I'm trying to say is I'm starting to consider just not making these publicly available at all. I'm not scrapping the project, but I don't feel these songs are good enough for other people to listen to.

No rush, make it sound the best you can with what you have to work with.

If you want this to happen you need to be obsessed over it, and not let something like hardware limit you.

Hey, this is a THING again! I got a Seagull acoustic for Christmas and it sounds beautiful. Add in the fact that I've got my own stuff to record with and improved skill and I think it just might work! Expect a single in the next few days~

On a related note, I'm looking to commission artists in the near future for supplementary artwork, if anyone might be willing. Please, lemme know if you're willing. Also, by commission, I mean a broke college kid who really needs to save money for next term's tuition will be sending you like $20 bucks. I'm cheap, huh? {:3

A few people oughta know that things are looking promising as far as the future of this initially doomed project is concerned. Here's to hoping!

Certainly no single here, but it's certainly a demo.

I'm all for constructive criticism, but please, folks, leave the pitchforks by the front door.

Pitchfork Magazine would give that cover a 4/5, and then once they hear your next single, give you a 1/5 trashing you for either being unoriginal or adhering to close to your previous efforts.
