    Cifer: The Awakening

Well, I should be getting another RPGM3 disc soon, so I have decided to make another game in addition to SPB as a guide for my characters and the direction they would take in the game. I'm not sure if you remember Fall of The Kings or Meggido Chronicles (which was definitely cancelled!), but I have decided to fuse the games into one, plus a darker sci-fi horror theme to it. Here are features of Upon This Rock!

*Rare Random Encounters- You heard right, but there will be quite a few battles, trust me. This is to facilitate an elemental battle system where going up against certain enemies whose elements are advantageous to you make you weaker and vice versa. Only the Edge of Chaos monsters are random encounters because it is in another dimension, and therefore the laws of the game do not apply.
    *3 Worlds to Explore-
    -Mons Regens
    -Libra
    -Edge of Chaos
*New Elemental System- Heat->Electromagnetism->Cold->Heat. Heat causes degeneration of body tissue (poison), EM Waves can short out a person's nervous system (slow), Cold cryogenically freezes people(stop). There is also Gravity, which creates black holes to suck up enemies (death). There is also a feature called Entropy. Entropy is an advantage of precedence that an elemental spell has. Fire types would therefore go before Thunder, and so on according to entropic ranking. Thunder is a strange case because although it only has a High entropy, due to the status and support skills it has, can change everyone's Entropy throughout the battle. Ice has a similar greater status effect, but without the support of Thunder, rather nullifying Fire support. Gravity has the best effect of all, but are the slowest at the beginning of a battle!

Fire-Highest Entropy (Poison, STR Up, DEF Down)
    Thunder-High Entropy (Slow, SPD Up/Down)
Ice-Low Entropy (Stop, DEF Up, STR Down)
Gravity-Lowest Entropy (Death, MDF Up, MAG Down)

*Modified SAP Battle System- The Strategic Positional Element goes into effect during boss fights as a way to afflict each other with Entropy changes, and if you get skilled (extremely skilled) with the system, may even one-shot the final boss!

*Dying is not Game Over- When you die in battle, your spirit is transported to the Edge of Chaos to go and revive your dying body. If you die there, you just start over...

STORY- The game starts in jail, being interrogated by your captors. Sigmund (aka Nihil) is being held on trail for the murder of James Wilcox III, your boss (aka Regent). And it is true that Sigmund did kill him, but he wants to tell the jury that Regent was not the philanthropic entrepreneur that everyone thought he was. He was a corrupt man, and forced Sigmund to commit horrible atrocities to mankind (not only did Wilcox buy rival companies, he had Sigmund murder the owner!) Then one day, after Regent orders him to go supervise a mining area rigged with explosives to kill him, Sigmund snaps and murders Regent. Of course there is no proof of Wilcox's crime, so he is sent on death row. 2 months later, he is broken out by a secret military squad called CORE, who saves his life, but hey do experiments on him Sick twisted experiments that leave him a hollow shell of who he once was. He becomes Nihil, and escapes the facility, a broken deranged man... As he travels the world to destroy the two companies who ruined his life once and for all, he meets people along the way whose lives were destroyed by CORE, such as Zane, who was blown to smithereens by a missile, but saved by the fragment of Cephatite that he had in his pocket.

You will find throughout the story that Cephatite is very important to the combat in the game. It is essentially Magicite. But I'll leave some details a secret... for now. Mwuhahahahahahahahaha!!!

    Re: Cifer: The Awakening

Thing have been updated! I got one of my buddies to help me on this (not in the community), so he added a lot of stuff. The game is now called Cifer: The Awakening. He had an idea to make an anime collaborated with me, my friend, and batman. so while me and my friend work on the story, I make the game, while batman draws the pretty pictures.
    The characters are...
Sigmund-Defender class Age 38 Katana user
He has high defense and resistances to magic, and further boosts DEF and MDF to the entire party. His magic stops enemies in their tracks. He adopted Xander and Nikolai since they were 10 years old.
Alexander-Space Celestial class Age 14 Bowgun user
He is a celestial, which is pretty much a god. He is still fairly young, and Sigmund protects him from harm to fulfill his true purpose... His skills involve throwing Cephatite stones into the air and blasting enemies with them. It's occasionally an insta-kill. He can warp reality, and transport hte party to an alternate universe to upgrade attacks and equipment.
Nikolai-Time Celestial Age 14 Dagger user
He is Alexander's biological brother, and controls time.
Valerie- Healer Age 36 Staff user
She is engaged to Sigmund, and has been for quite some time now. She along with Sigmund guard the children.
Zane- Berserker Class Age 19 Sword user
He was another victim of CORE's experiments, namely, a portable grenade nuke. He was patched up, and is now part cyborg. Not only can he hit hard and fast, his electrical based attacks can stun with Paralyze, and even heal with Shock Therapy. Watch out for his bombs!
Samantha-Fire Celestial Age 15 Naginata user
She is Xander and Nikolai's sister. She controls fire.

There are other Celestials out there... all with an element. they are...
    Fire- HP poison (Samantha Cifer)
    Acid- MP poison
    Nature- HP/MP poison (Rose Mallady)
    Thunder- HP slow
    Wind- MP slow
    Water- HP/MP slow
    Stone- HP stop (Roxanne Werth)
    Ice- MP stop
    Time- HP/MP stop (Nikolai Cifer)
    Shade-HP death
    Holy-MP death
    Cosmos-HP/MP death (Alexander Cifer)

    Finally, the villain!
    Hollow Shell

          Re: Cifer: The Awakening

This game will be absolutely epic.
Now the battle system will be as such: When you take damage, It will go to your MP, which is usually a high number. This is nonlethal damage, and items will only heal this. MP is life! However, once you use up all of your MP from taking damage, or using spells and overdrives, you will start to take lethal damage, which only a few items will heal. And these items will be quite difficult to acquire. when all of your HP is gone, you die. There are no items that will save you, but some overdrives may give other characters the kick they need. The poison status will be attributed to Fire, Acid and Nature spells. Poison slowly saps away 5% of your health each time it affects you. Slow status is applied to Water, Wind and Thunder spells. They halve your movement bar speed, so you will get half as many attacks in. Stop is applied to Stone, Ice and Time spells, and freeze you. And Death is applied to Light, Shade and Gravity spells, and the effect is self-explanatory. All of these spells do either medium damage to HP, High damage to MP, or Low damage to HP and MP. Of course, there are deviations from this rule, so expect some very powerful attacks from enemies. More to Come.

            Re: Cifer: The Awakening

            Now on to the battles...
There will be random encounters, but it's set to a low level, and there is an unlimited use item that Zane has that increases or decreases enemy encounter rate. Now the level cap in the game is 11, which you get after gaining 4000 exp. Now for each regular encounter, you can get from 1 to 40 experience. But since you can't really level grind that much in a low encounter setting, defeating a CORE boss will give you 250 experience, and Hollow Shell 500. Thats 1500 experience total from bosses, and you can get a total of 500 experience from story events. That will bring you to at least Lv 9, which is pretty good. Because the fastest a stat grows is 10, and 110 is kinda low even in this game. Thank Shade that the enemies also drop permanent stat boost items occasionally. Your stats can go up to 255 with stat boosts, and even higher with equipment up to 245 in power and armor up to 145. Sigmund, the shield user, also equips shields with a 100 defense boost maximum, in addition with special effects.

              Re: Cifer: The Awakening

I suppose there's some relevant explanation as to why you have a character whose age is known in "Season 1" and unknown in "Season 2" despite all the other characters having aged two years.

If you don't like the game so far, be sure to look out for the anime adaptation of it. Batman's drawing it, and he's really good at it.

                            Re: Cifer: The Awakening

OK... Obviously people are only interested in this game because of my colleague's lapse of logic. Allow me to clarify. Zane became half robot because he stumbled onto a mine testing facility field. When he was blown up, he had to be repaired with artificial parts, like an arm, leg, and eye. But, there was a problem. The new robot parts were incompatible, and were rejected by his body, so they had to give him a anti-rejection chemical that somehow resulted in his cells to die slightly faster than cells were created, so the surgery will eventually shorten his life-span, and he will die... not! Between Season 1 and Season 2, he gradually becomes more and more robotic to prevent him from dying. Eventually by the end of Season 2, he will be entirely robotic.

                            Anyway, regarding the gameplay...
1-Every character and enemy has two offensive abilities. They are either Drain HP or Drain MP depending on battle style, and either Slash damage, Blunt damage, or Pierce damage. Slash is Smash, Blunt is Critical Up, and Pierce is Magic Sword. Every enemy or character has two defensive auto abilities as well. They are MP Shield, and any other. Like an enemy called a Halcyon has Drain MP, Pierce damage, MP Shield and Dodge. Aerial Enemies are harder to hit with physical attacks, but magic should take care of it easily. Also, aerial enemies are Animal race, so certain moves like Gravity Blade will do extra damage to one.
2-The battle system, level up system, and Stat growth system allows you to play any way you want. Although in the beginning of the game, most characters are restricted to certain roles such as defender, mage, healer, or fighter, after beating a few enemies, you will be able to redeem stat boost treasures for a stat boost. Without stat boosts, Sigmund is extremely slow, and inaccurate with attacks, but with them, you can make Sig the fastet character in the game. It's hard work, but getting a character's stats to 999 will get you great in-game rewards, such as Omega Weapons, Accessories, and Omega Armor! Get Speed maxed out? Get an accessory with Swift, and Armor with Dodge! Get Magic Resistance to 999? Get a Full Revive accessory, and armor with immunity to all statuses, and a shield with immunity to all magic! And you get the picture!
