    Re: Anime/manga

Code Geass was pretty exhilarating. And the ending was great~

Too bad they'll probably **** it up with another season/OVA/whatever!

Monster looks pretty cool. And I'm surprised they're still doing Hellsing. I thought that company died?

The company releasing it in the U.S. did. Not the company actually producing the show in Japan.

Then is it really an anime at all?
What's the point of having an emergency response system if you can't provoke the wrath of God?

I was thinking a similar thing.

Isn't the point of a cartoon that it's totally absurd enough that if you tried to do it live action you couldn't without a ton of cash or making it look really horrible?

No. Look at Perfect Blue, Tokyo Godfathers, Millennium Actress, etc.

I don't know what any of these are but a short wiki trip to Perfect Blue, it could have been done as a live-action and didn't really gain anything from being animated did it? Not rhetorical, actually asking.

                    Re: Anime/manga

It gained something thematically by being animated. But the short answer to why someone would do something animated when it was also within the scope of live-action filmmaking is pretty simple: because they want to.

The fact that it was animated, and animated exceptionally well, only adds to everything else that makes it awesome.

And woe upon ye that haven't seen Tokyo Godfathers.
                      ...and that's why.

Tokyo Godfathers actually is my least favorite Satoshi Kon movie :O

It's not that I think it's bad. It's just pretty mundane.

Oda confirmed in an Asahi Shimbun article in November that he had planned to end the series in five years and has had the image of the final chapter established in his mind for a long time. However, creating the episodes that lead to that ending has taken longer than he had anticipated. In the manga's 13th year, he would like to say that he is 9/10ths of the way towards the end, but he acknowledged that he is only halfway there.
HOPE YOU GUYS ARE LOOKING FORWARD TO 13 MORE YEARS OF ONE PIECE

I'm still in the Arabasta arc. I'm ****ing way behind. Why Oda?

Death Note was short and sweet, why can't every manga be like that?

Its gonna be hilarious because right before he starts working on the last arc hes going to die or something and we'll never see the ending.
