Re: The Pavilion Room Photo Topic

Okay...I said I was gonna necro this topic once I cleaned up my room. I was on vacation from work this week, and thus spent 3 days cleaning and organizing my living quarters. And without further ado....

This is a view of my area from just having come down the stairs.

My newly reconfigured entertainment center. I have it so my PS3, Xbox 360, PS2, both of my original Xboxes, my Gamecube, and my Dreamcast can be turned on and played whenever I want without having to rehook a bunch of wires and cables up. TV is a Samsung 30" Slimfit 720p.

Top half of my new shelving unit. I bought it Monday for $40 from a thrift store.

Closer view of two right-hand top shelves.

                My anime shelf.

Seinfeld, 24, Lost, and Arrested Development box sets. Right now, 24 season 2 and Lost season 2 are out on loan to a friend.

Some of my CDs. I have more, but they are behind the ones currently in front. This is pretty much all that remains of my 800+ CD collection.

More CDs and CD box sets.

The other side of the room, including my Rock Band/Guitar Hero peripherals and video games.

I reconfigured my games from the "Post yr game collection" thread. I now have Gamecube, GBA, DS, and Dreamcast games on the bottom shelf....

...followed by PS1, PS2, PS3, and PSP games on the middle shelf....

...and finally Xbox and Xbox 360 games on the top shelf.

An end table next to my couch. Lately, I've been sleeping on my couch a lot, so everything I need is right there, including my PSP (I listen to an ambient station on PSP's internet radio function as I fall asleep), my iPod dock/clock radio (it has a miniplug input as well, so I hook my PSP up as I fall asleep), and random various epherema. I plan to get a Logitech Harmony remote at some point in the future to replace those 5 remotes on the table. Also, the end table has a door underneath, and I keep all my controllers/connections/etc there in order to avoid having them connected to my consoles and sitting all over the room.

A view from the other way. I put all my burned DVDs and recorded movies/TV shows on this rack.

Right now, my bedroom is a dumping ground for clothes...as I cleaned up my area this week, I figured the "living room" is more important to look presentable, and I could throw all my clothes in the bedroom temporarily, as I rarely sleep in there anyway.

I figure that in order to FULLY get my room the way I want it, I need to spend about another $400-$500. That would include surround speakers (I only have a pair of JBL bookshelves now and I think they are blown), the Logitech Harmony remote, a fiber optic switchbox (my receiver only has one fiber optic in, and my Xbox 360, PS3, and Dish Network all have fiber optic outs) and two more fiber optic cables, a Bluetooth keyboard for use on my PS3 when creating RPGM3 games and browsing the internet, and that might be about all I need to deck this out how I want it to be. I'm pretty broke right now, though, so all of this will have to come in the future...with the Bluetooth keyboard probably being my next purchase.

                So that's where I live.

Your Samsung TV uses the same remote as mine.

Edit: And your DVD player remote is an RCA which I also have.

I'm not even sure if the Samsung remote is the actual one for the TV. I bought it from work as an open item display model (albeit one that had not even been plugged in or turned on) for less than $400, and it might be a remote that was just sitting around the department, and not the REAL remote for the TV.

I also bought the RCA upconvert DVD player as an open item display model (once again, it HAD been plugged in, but never had been used to play a DVD) for $45. Again, I'm not sure if this is the REAL remote for it, or just one that was laying around the department.
