            Re: Release List

Is there some significance to January 7? Because what if you are 90% finished on January 6th 2008, and so therefore cannot release it the next day, but you finish the game within the week. Are you going to wait another entire year to release it? Please explain your logic.

              Re: Release List

The working title for the game I'm working on now is Redemption for RPGM1. I want to come up with a better title though, cause I'd like to make the game into a series (though that depends on if I get RPGM 2/3, the PS2 keyboard and a MaxDrive or whatever people use). I came up with a lot of the basic gameplay ideas when I was working on my first game.

There's a single main character, and the player chooses either a male or female character and a starting skill at the beginning of the game. Gender doesn't affect the overall gameplay (both characters are statistically identical, and can use the same things), but it will affect parts of the story. Starting skill will affect stat growth, and that will affect what skills the main character can take later on. In addition to the main character, there are 5 supporting characters, and the player will be able to choose from among them.

The game makes a lot of use of skills. Characters can take multiple skills, though only the main character can take all skills. Nearly every skill will have Special Attacks unique to the skill, and each skill has its own ability.

              Example skills:
              • Barbarian: Special Attacks boost attack power and has the AI ability.
              • Thief: Special attacks boost speed and has the Treasure Find Up ability.
              • Druid: Special attacks cure negative statuses and has the No Class ability.
              • Necromancer: Special attacks inflict negative statuses and has the HP Drain ability.

Magic isn't learned by level. Instead, the characters must find magic items dropped by enemies and use them in combination with a prism and a quill pen in certain areas to learn spells. The supporting characters can learn different spells, but only the main character can learn all the spells.

There are several different types of weapons which the characters can use. There's basic single attack weapons, weapons with double attacks, and weapons which can attack an entire group of enemies. In addition, later in the game, the player will be able to make weapons with elemental properties using magic items. The supporting characters are limited in some of their weapon choices, but the main character will be able to use any weapon.

I haven't selected the monsters yet, I'm still working on the storyline and maps. I made too many areas in my first game, so I want to balance things out a bit better in this game. Enemies won't give experience directly, instead the player will use food items to level the characters up. I'm not really looking forward to balancing out the game's economy with this feature, plus all the items as well, but I don't really like the default experience system in RPGM1.

That's about it right now. I've got the characters and skills finished, I have the item list finished (I recycled a lot of items from my first game), and I'm working on creating the spells and magic attacks. I still have to hammer out the story and make the dungeons. Don't know how long it will take, but I'll probably need at least 6 months minimum to finish it.

                Title: Transgenders: Homos' in disguise
                Software: RPG Maker 3
                Release Date: TBA
                Developer: Pvt. Mansfield

NOTE: This game's title is NOT meant to offend anyone. I have gay/bi/and otherwise curious friends and respect the Homosexual/Heterosexual community. I am just a goofball and had a dream one night, about making a game that featured male-gendered tranformers who could change sexes and defend the planet Maybellene "Maybe it's Maybellene!"(SP?).

I hadn't thought of that, actually. I might try to do that, but I'm sure there are several people who simply update their earlier posts, and the forums don't alert you when a post is edited.
