A reminder - The submission period for the Monster Rancher Giveaway has extended to the 14th. Make stuff, send it in.

Starting Monday, the RPG Maker Pavilion is going to start a Rewards program. Every game submitted to the site (that isnt an update to a game already on the site) will get you a point. For every point you get, your name goes on a piece of paper. Every six months, these pieces of paper will be put in a box, and I will pick one randomly. The person whose name I draw gets a new game of their choice. Then I will remove all pieces of paper with the winner's name on them from the box, mix the papers up, and pull another name. This person will also get a game of their choice.

Every six months, two people who submitted games to the pavilion are going to win stuff. If by chance you manage to submit more than one game in a six month window, your odds go up. The only thing that won't get you points? Garbage games. They don't take long to make, and someone could easily churn out dozens of them in a 6 month window and ensure their chances at winning. Contest games will also get you points. And there is guaranteed to be a contest in each of these windows.

Drawings will be held on-camera. First drawing will be held June 30.

In order to participate, you will either need to be comfortable giving me your address to send the game to you. Failing that, you can still take part if you have Steam installed on your PC, or have a Wii, both of which have gift options for downloadable titles.

This is one really awesome idea. And I hope it's that little spark that's needed to get everyone to work on something that they know they want to anyway.

You should send a chocolate donut to the third name that comes out of the box. :)

Unfortunately, no. for the same reason garbage games don't. someone could rush out a ton of demos that arent ever going to be completed, just to boost their chances.

So do I get a point automatically for the contest I won by default a while back?

And the people that won the garbage contest but didn't get thier box-spam?

No. Both those contests ended before this year started.

I still have to get you your prize, though. I keep forgetting about that.
