I'm still interested, despite the shortcomings I seem to be reading. Could you clarify on these?
3)You can place event characters only in towns, buildings and dungeons. But you can place other types of event everywhere.
Okay, so NPCs are now their own type of events, right? So if they can be placed in towns, buildings, and dungeons, that means you can't place them in the world map (assuming that's what that pixel thing you mentioned was)?
4)Every character can use a specific weapon (So, for example, the character you have seen in the videos, can use only swords).
Does this mean we can only use stock characters, or can the character graphics use only a certain type of weapon (as in, you can't have the robe guy use a sword ever)?

Are towns made the same way as the big hill-filled fields, or are they always flat? What about dungeons? How detailed can they be; can we make a big room with a high ceiling and ledges/bridges in dungeons?

Does the game come with a sample game like previous RPGMs?

How much memory does a game take on a memory card? Is it determined by how much stuff you have in the game like in RPGM1, or is it always a set amount like in RPGM2?

How's the music and sound? How many of each? How many character models and monster models? What sort of animations are possible for characters (like sitting, waving, etc.)? Can monsters be placed outside of battle for those who want to make non-random battles?

Do you mean to say that this RPG Maker totaly lacks a VFX editor?

If so, I cannot get this one.

Re: We could see RPG Maker 3 late this year.

Dear Draygone and RPG Programmer, there's a very important thing to say: RPG Tsukuru is less customizable than RPG maker 2. So, for example, there isn't a visual effect creator. As for magic visual effects, you can only choose the target, the animation performed by the character (or the monster) who invokes the magic and the kind of effect (there are more than 60 pre-made elements). The section in which you create magics is the same section used for create characters' class or monsters: so, a magic is a particular faculty of a single character/monster. Now I'm going to answer to the other questions:
              1) Yes, NPCs are different from the other events: they are created in the same section in which you create party members. You can't place a NPC in a field, because fields are world maps (do you remember FF8 world map?). You can place only 3 things in these maps: 1) Towns in miniature 2) Classic events 3) Objects.
              2) As for the character models, every model can equip only a single type of weapon: the character you have seen in the videos, for example, can equip only swords (there are 10 graphic models for swords).
              3) You can only choose pre-made towns (21) and place objects, buildings, etc in created towns. Every town has a world map model (in miniature) and a complete playable area. You don' t need a "move location" command for the field-town transition.
              4) Buildings have an exterior model and an interior model: the first one is the model you place in towns.
              5) Dungeon creation is very very easy. You can create beautiful dungeons just by placing walls, traps, and establishing the texture style (it depends on the textures if the dungeon is a cave or another kind of structure). I don't think you can create bridges, etc.
              6) There are 2 sample games. One of these games is called "Dear brave heart".
              7) Memory question: every element requires a certain percentage. 2 chara= 0,3%; 1 class=0,25%; 1 party member= 0,15+0,25%; 1 monster=0,2%; 1 field= 4,1% (it doesn't depend on field dimension!!!); 1 dungeon=0,4%.
              8) Number question: Objects=248!; Buildings=46; Sound effects=96; BGM=49 (splendid BGM in Lord Of The Rings style! You can appreciate a magnificent female chorus in some BGM!); Male chara=23; Female chara=22; Animals=9; small monsters=21, medium monters=14; big monsters=14; Chara animations=27.
              9) You can't place monsters like event characters. But you can fight also against the same character models you normally use for create party members or event characters.

One of the most splendid characteristics of RPG Tsukuru is the hugeness of spaces and field of vision!

Now I am studying the most complex aspect of the game (complex because the game is in Japanese): magic status effects (like poison, etc). But I have just understood a lot of things.

I hope I was clear, even if I don't know English very well, because I am Italian.

No, your English is pretty clear for the most part. Thanks for the information. I can see why Agetec might be a bit hesitant about bringing this one over. And yet, at the same time, I wonder if it would be easier to translate.

Don't worry about it. You've made your point quite clear.

Unfortunately, it looks like I shan't be getting this one. The models in the game are too realistic for the type of games I wish to make, among other things.

Re: We could see RPG Maker 3 late this year.

Has anyone heard or found anything yet at the hint of development of an actual RPG Maker 3 or RPG School 6 or whatever?

I've been back and forth over enterbrains site and found nothing.

I wonder if anything has gone into development or even planning?

I hope we get a new version once the PS3 comes out.
Do you serve with a purpose or purposely serve?

Ah, now that's some good tidbits. It seem as if RPG Tsukuru is what I call a "crowd pleaser" game, at least in the USs case. Looks like I won't be getting it either. Things do seem easier and more flexible(like the world creation) and the game looks a lot better compared to RPG Maker 2, but it all comes at a huge price.
