    RM3 on PSN

RPG Maker 3 is being released as a PS2 Classic on PSN

I wonder if there's any chance that interest in this will get Enterbrain to think about doing another console RM.

      I'm surprised, to be honest.

If I had a PS3, I'd show my support for this.

Unfortunately, my in-progress developer's commentary save file is on my dead 60 gig PS3. On the plus side, maybe I can get one more use out of that PS1/2 to PS3 memory card transfer cable thingie. EDIT: I wonder if the cloud uploads for PS+ include PS2 virtual memory game saves.

Now if only they fixed RPGM3 and removed all the restrictions that would allow me to take advantage of my 320GB HDD... *sigh*

Theoretically, you can install the game to the HDD. There's an "app" in the Playstation Store which allows you to install PS2 games to the hard drive. This was obviously put into place for FFXI, which required the PS2 HDD. RPGM3 might be the only other game that used this feature on the PS2. I downloaded it on my old 60 gig PS3 (it had a 250 GB HDD), and tried to get it to work with my disc-based copy of RPGM3, but it never did.

Yeah, I'm aware of that. I just meant it'd be cool if the stupid restraints that the game has could be removed and allow for bigger games to be made.

                    Well, that's a surprise.

                    Also fairly awesome.

While I don't think this game's success on the PSN will show enterbrain that there's still demand for console RPG Makers (are any even available on the japanese PSN?), it may lead the way for RPG Maker 1 and 2 to come to the PSN.

Finally, no more PS2 memory cards to switch all the time. Also no more scratched disc to worry about.

                        Interesting.

The most important thing IMO, is how does this release work with games that have already been made with RPGM 3? The biggest draw for this release should be the ability to play games that have been made already.

I would assume it would use virtual memory card files like the PS1 downloadable games do, but I have yet to download any "PS2 classic" titles, so I'm guessing on that one.

Ive always wondered this. Who actually developed this game? Like, did the team do anything else? Also didnt the Pav have a hand in its development somehow?

The Pavilion was involved with the development of RPG Maker 2, not 3.

RPG Maker 3 was developed by Enterbrain and Runtime.
