"What if like...there was an exact copy of you somewhere, except they're the opposite gender, like you guys could literally have a freaky friday moment and nothing would change. Imagine the best friendship that could be found there."
Doing a LP series of creating a game using RPG Maker... I think that's a really good idea! Watching it all come together in "accelerated" time and listening to you break down all the cool things and weird points of RPG Maker's mechanics as you create it... that would be awesome to watch.

Oh, and if you have, say, 29 INT points, and you defeat the catacombs imp, you will go up a level and have 39 INT points. Even if you have 50 INT points, you will still level up, and have 60 INT points.
The dragon on the hill is an optional boss with some pretty nice rewards, but the only thing you can really do with them is make it a little easier to defeat that dragon subsequent times.
Well I know you said you might do a special episode where you focused on different aspects of the game, but this is the last of the gameplay episodes.
...sniff
Thank you for doing an LP of my game, and you did a great job!!
No let's playing this week, due to excuses. But next week will be the finale of "Tree of Life". Assuming there isn't anything else I haven't done besides the dragon and thief quest.

That dragon causes 500 damage. I've got a little under 200 HP. Is there any hope?

If you can't even handle the enemies in the woods, then how did you think you could manage against the optional boss? That's like going up against Emerald Weapon at level 9.
You don't HAVE to train up so that you're on par with the enemies in any area in the game, but if you DO bother to do that, wouldn't you want one last challenge? Well that's what that dragon is for...to reward players who bother to train up. Therefore it has to be a challenge. I have defeated it at level 30 before, but 35-40 is preferable. It's kinda like this: Go on to area 2 when you're about level 5, from there go on to area 3 when you're about level 10, from there go on to area 4 when you're about level 15-20. After all that, you have one more goal to aim for...the optional boss dragon.
Except there's a chance the game will send you into area 4 while you're still at level 1. And if most people are like me, they're gonna want to flee from most battles so they can survive the areas they keep getting sent into.

But some will bother to train up, and will be rewarded with an optional boss enemy that they can defeat.
But honestly...you did really well against the dark wyvern, considering you were only level 9, you forgot to adjust your battle formation before the battle, and your team was NOT maximized in the equipment department, in spite of some rare gems. You could likely defeat it at a lower level than 30 at that rate.
Also, you're kinda missing a few tricks.
Remember when I said that you didn't HAVE to train up to beat the game, if you were clever? Well, you already defeated the catacombs imp without it, but...
*** SPOILERS ***
Hobbes carries a bomb that does 9999 damage, I believe, which should help. Also there is an item that does 999...the Greek fire? Tonque carries it, I think?
*** END SPOILERS ***
EDIT - Ok, I hadn't actually finished watching the whole episode when I posted that. :-/ But hey! At least you defeated the dark wyvern! Too bad he didn't drop anything that time, but you can fight him over and over again. There are 4 things he can drop, and they are all very nice.
you forgot to adjust your battle formation before the battle
Actually, I didn't bother because there's no point. All special attacks, regardless of being HP-consuming or MP-consuming, ignore character adjustments. The only way that dragon would've been unable to hit someone in the back row is if it used its basic attack, which it didn't. In fact, I don't recall any enemy in this game using anything other than special attacks.
Also, I forgot completely about the item that Hobbes was carrying. But I'm not used to using damage-causing items. Normally those things sit in my inventory to the point it becomes useless by the time I'd want to use it, and this happens with every RPG.
That said, it's time for the next episode. There was a 50/50 chance that the Valencourts would adopt a boy. Let's see what would've happened had life landed on heads.

I've sorta gotten tired of these "talk to everyone" episodes, but it's still interesting to see how differently people talk to Victor Valencourt instead of Zoey Hegel.
By the way, I know I said we'd be finishing the game this week, but I was wrong. "She's a Dude" was recorded as one episode but had to be split for time. And it's looking like the thief quest is doing the same. It's looking like it'll be three episodes, maybe even four. Dunno, still editing. But that's too many for one week, so the thief quest (and the TRUE end of this let's play) will be coming next week!
