The idea of trading RPG Maker games seems pretty cool to me. I'm just wondering if it is even worth me getting the software to do so. So, is this place still active? Is there much game uploading and downloading going on anymore?

It's still very active. If you submit a game that actually looks good, and is fairly original, you are bound to get a few veiwers and if they like the game your bound to get a few more. And if the few more like the game, your bound to get more...

Wow, I think the speed of those replies gave me my answer. I think I may consider starting this. I have used many other RPG makers, the Psone RPG Maker, the computer ones, but I'd really like to get RPG Maker 2 for ps2 because I've heard it is more customizable than 3.

still very active. still pretty good flow of new submissions, and there's a ton of submissions already on the site to keep you busy.
if you want to see just how active the game-playing is, click the "discuss" link for any RPGM2 or 3 game in the game directory. you can see their download counters.

I haven't plyed 2, but I agree with JPS 3 looks better. In my mind there are only limitations if you allow then to be. I have always found away around something I need and if you can't then it wasn't important enough anyways. I would know I'm working around something as we speak. (Well type)

Re: So, is this place still very active?
You pulled a fast one on me Val
I know it was Rhetorical, but I'm answering it. I might not be able to do it extremly smoothly, but in a way it can be done. (I think) Have your event be placed aways from the NPC. Make it fade out and put that NPC in your party. After that get rid of your main character. (Be sure he was placed in that spot.) You have to move your self to where the Npc was standing and make sure he is facing the right derecting. Refresh, then fade in. Make the NPC say hi or something. He should be looking at you.
Then fade out use display on the duplicate of the NPC. Add the main character, remove the NPC, display off the first one. You have to move you to the original spot the event started. Refresh, then fade in. Then they can keep talking closer to each other.
I know it is rediculious, but it makes it seem as if the NPC moved and you didn't. Of course those would have to be auto events and it would eat up space. Plus it's slow and the screen would be black for the movements.
I don't even know why I took the time to type this and I didn't even do the greatest job at explaining it.
Sorry for temperarly changing the topic Gameguy.Last edited by Lausen; 09-23-2007, 03:32 PM.

lol, it doesn't really matter what becomes of this topic now, my question was answered on the first few posts.
Anyway, since we're on off topic type things, can you make just normal messages in RPG Maker 2 to have people talk instead of the story telling sequences or whatnot?

Re: So, is this place still very active?
Yes. Really, the storyteller feature is an exclusive RPGM3 feature meant to replace real-time cutscene enactment."What if like...there was an exact copy of you somewhere, except they're the opposite gender, like you guys could literally have a freaky friday moment and nothing would change. Imagine the best friendship that could be found there."
