    Re: Holy-Chaos 2: Prophecies Unleashed!

Like when I said "Normal" I ment it would just be Cryolite. It wouldn't be "Normal Cryolite" in the game.

The Cryolite are gems and such that give the character's their skills. In the story they are what gives the outsiders a fighting chance. Most of them are elemental based, and can be found through chests, main plot side quests just laying on the ground etc...

The Neo Cryolite are special for they contain summons. (Basiclly really strong attacks.) The thing is only one character can bring the power out of the Neo ones. Thats the chosen one in the prophecy. The Neo Cryolite have a much bigger part of the plot then just the summons they contain, but I'll leave keep that secret for now.

Either way the Mirage Clan put their power's into the stones before the disasters. The reason I thought of Cryo because the power lays in dorment inside the stones waiting for someone to aweaken them for what ever reason. Kind of like Cryogenics.

They go a lot deeper then just that so if you want to know more tell me, but it could be a spoiler. And I'm on a bit of a break, because I just got a Max Drive and am playing "Shadow of the Towers." It's giving me some insperation so I'm waiting to finish it then I'll hit HC-P hard.

Well technically that would make it a new mat because Neo means "new."

Cryolite is much better than using silly ol' materia. I like the name.

Instead of gems, they could be suppositories.

That way using combinations can take tolls on dexterity, and other stats.

        Hey... don't laugh.

I actually did that in one of my games!!

ARGH.... I JUST LOST ALL OF MY DATA!!! I copyed my HC 1 file onto my other mem card that has HC-P, but they were both file 1 and I lost it all! That was over 50% usage and many many hours gone. I feel like killing somebody!

Oh no! That's terrible, man. I feel your pain. Well, at least the story is fresh on your mind so it shouldn't be all that hard to program it back it. (I know it'll take a lot of time.) When I was making a game on RPG Maker 1, something very similar happened to me. I just felt like blowing up my PS1!!

            Sorry.

                AAAIIGGHH!!!!............MAPS................GONE??.......

I feel your pain...I really do....you can reprogram everything else, but those maps are gone forever. This has happened to me, also. One thing I CAN say though, is that the maps are almost always better the second time. You think there's no way they will be, but you might be surprised.

Maps are the only thing I'm upset about. I have most of the text typed out on my computer for spell check. I know I did the same thing with the first HC and it has turned out better, but the one map was so cool I don't know how I'm going to remake it.

Because that is the hardest part I'm going to work on just redoing my four maps I had done. That way if and when their better I'll have even more motivation. I have 6 hours tonight so that should be enough time to get one back to it's former glory.

I don't know about maps and recreating them, but I've found that when I've lost actual portions of a story that it's really hard to get the voice back for a scene that you had already written. I'm imagining that it's a similar case here, but like Obright said, you might be surprised at what you come up with on rebuilding your maps. Just don't give up because you let your mindset allow you to think you'll never be able to get your maps up to par again.

Well it's been a few days since I lost my data and I have finished 2 and a half of my four maps so far. Things are actually coming back good. I should have the third map done today and I'll start on events. I'm hopeing to have a demo done in a few weeks so you guys can see if it's up to par with the other games people have made here.

I hope so. The Pav has some excellent map creators

                        Good luck

                          Re: Holy-Chaos 2: Prophecies Unleashed!

Ive learned to not say anything about my game because I'll end up changing one thing that will have an affect on everything else

All I can say is...nothing.... youll find out when you play it

The best thing about not saying anything is that no one expects anything from your game, you havent given them ways to get their hopes up, thus when they play the game they have no idea what its about, and if you do the game right, they'll understand it through the storyline.

Though I've given a simple description of my game, all people know is theres 2 countries at war, thats all...nothing else.

And how many military RPG's are there out there? Secret of Mana, Illusion of Gaia, Chrono Trigger, Legend of Dragoon doesnt have militaries, and if you want to get technical, most games who has a "military" envolvement doesnt even have a military, usually its just a group of protestors, like FF7 was

That's the truth! I just finished "Ursus Quest Shadow of the Towers" and I have to say he's good with the map editor. The major difference in my maps and other peoples is that other games need everything to be super smooth, but because the land went through hell it reflects that. And because of that theres some cool places to explore.

I know what you're saying JPS, but I think the best part of making a game is seeing peoples reaction. The demo should provide enough feedback to see what I'm doing right and what I'm doing wrong. Thus making a game people will hopefully enjoy. That's what it's all about for me.

Making maps that look destroyed also is not easy.

Yeah, you know how hard it is to make a river on a map look smooth with the land?
