    The Megaman thread

    Again...

I just got Megaman Legends and its kewl. It wasn't a bad deal considering that I payed a whopping $8.00 for it. I'm not sure how much I'll get into it since I'm really not much of an action junkie but the adventure/RPG part of it is addicting. I also got Legends 2 but I haven't played it yet. Which one is better?

I also still can't wait for the X Collection to come out on PS2. The main reason I want it is to play X3 since I never got to play the SNES version. X1 and X2 are classics to me and X3 looks pretty much the same (a good thing). And of course the SNES ver. of X3 goes for ridiculous prices online and even if the later Xs suck it will be nice just to have them there to play if I feel like it.

    both X3 and X2.

luckily, I bought them when they came out (as I do every megaman game since Megaman 5 for NES). hell, if I remember correctly, X3 was $80. as if that wasnt bad enough, I buy two copies of every US megaman game, one to open, one to stay sealed. so X3 has cost me more than any other installment in the series, since it has more variations than anything else.

    Megaman X3 SNES x2 =160
    Rockman X3 SNES= 80
    Rockman X3 Saturn = 60
    Rockman X3 PlayStation = 60
    Megaman X3 PC = 30
    Megaman X3 PAL SNES = 70

    GRAAAAAH. $460 for Megaman X3.

The only X game I have is the first one. I figured it would be the best and I didn't need any of the others. Was I right?

no. X4 for the PS1 is definately the best. all megaman games are still judged against it by reviewers, and they all fail when compared to it.

My personal opinion for the best:

        X4
        X2
        X8
        X1
        X3

I honestly don't care much for X5-7, or the GBC games.

Yeah, X4 was definately the best. It didn't have enough anime cutscenes though.

              Re: The Megaman thread

I think I bought X3 for around $17-$20, though that was about a year or so after it came out. I was surprised how fast it went off the shelves for SNES, so I ended up picking up a used copy from a Microplay near me, which went out of business about 5 or so years ago.

I still think X3 is better than X4, and I always thought X2 was average at best, though it was the first one I actually owned, though I beat X before it, just took a while before I bought it. But I think most people would like to forget X5-7 ever happend though 6 takes the cake as the least memorable. Then 8 came along and renewed my faith in Capcom's ability to make a X game. I hope 9 continues this new hope.

              So my ranking would be 3, 4, 8, 1, 2, 5, 7, 6.

I got X4 for a few bucks. It never really endeared it'self to me.

I still prefer the orginal series to the X series. They're more fun and... I donno... more pure or something. I can't articulate it.

X and X4 are my favorites.

And, oddly enough, I think I preferred Mega Man Legends 1 to Mega Man Legends 2. The story in Legends 2 was just too ridiculous.

X4 is cool, I have it on Sega Saturn of all systems. I'm with those who like the classic first 3 though. They just seem to have a great atmosphere to them.

I haven't played 8 either. I guess I'll play that one too when X Collections comes out.

Legends is great. I've played both versions.

I got X4 at Blockbuster brandnew sealed on greatest hits for $10.

Finally beat it with Zero too......

Thankfully, MMX4's voices will be completely redone for the MMXC by Ocean Group. Huzzah!

In addition, I believe the price for MMXC is supposed to be $19-$29.

I also believe Loki means that he believes the Classic series' world is more memorable. Frankly, I agree wholeheartedly. I simply love the world and it's characters. The Classic series has something of a magical touch, methinks.

Legends and Legends 2 are both pretty fun games. Legends 2 is probably the better of the two because the graphics seems sharper and more detailed and i just remember liking it more.

have any of you played Mega Man X: Command Mission? if you like mega man x, it's basically and rpg version of it.
