    Most Anti-Climatic Gaming Moments EVAR

    Following the recent trend here.

The final boss fight for Resident Evil 4 was extremely dissapointing.

    *** SPOILERS ***
The entire game was an intense gauntlet of action and the unexpected, then there you go, the typical resident evil final boss who you can kill with the GRENADE LAUNCHER that you're given if you survive long enough or if you damage him enough. He didn't put up much of a fight either--maybe a lot of people complained about the final boss in Code Veronica and how they weren't able to beat it because they were too low on supplies. Either way I felt gyped as I had a surplus of ammo and First-Aid sprays saved for the occassion.

To follow it all you get to rescue the PRESIDENT'S DAUGHTER while racing away from the island on self-destruct mode all while on a jet-ski. Then Leon rejects Ashely. PSH. It's like if Solid Snake in MGS was gay.

    *** END SPOILERS ***

    Also, the ending to BioShock.

    *** SPOILERS ***
The game ended for me when you watched your character bludgen Andrew Ryan to death. It was the perfect reveal. Then an hour or so later we get to finally fight Fontane in one of the easiest final bosses and then are awarded with what--a one minute ending? I also really didn't like how if you killed one Little Sister the game made you out to be the re-incarnation of Hitler but if you saved them all you're suddenly the Mother Theresa of the Children of Rapture. And they made such a big deal about the ELEMENT OF CHOICE and how NO TWO PEOPLE WILL HAVE THE SAME EXPERIENCE. Bullocks. The only thing that changes is the last minute of the game depending on the choices you made throughout a 10 hour experience.
    *** END SPOILERS ***

Not enough to ruin an otherwise exemplary experience however. :3

seriously, were you expecting an epic ending from a Mario game?

I found the GTA4 ending...dissappointing. I don't know...it could've been much more epic with the technology in that game. Yes, I know there are 2.

              GTA4 has 2 endings?! Argh.

And Mario Galaxy gets points for being friggin' weird.

When you find out the villain you've been chasing all through FFV is a tree.

                  I don't really see how

                  *** SPOILERS ***
the universe being destroyed, then remade by hundreds of little Lumas sacrificing themselves
                  *** END SPOILERS ***

seems anti-climactic. Especially for a Mario game.

I knew that if anyone would start such a thread, it would be Toastworth.

That said, the most anti-climactic game moment I can recall would be in Rockman 8 (the import, yes), when the disc wouldn't read properly and it went straight to silent credits after beating Wily.

The same thing happened with X4, coincidentally.

Defeating Ruby Weapon in FF7, I fought that ******* dragon hundreds of times until I finally did, and what did I get? A Desert Rose, whoopdy freakin' doo, and it did me absolutely no good because I already had a bunch of gold chocobos...

When I finally beat him I was pumped thinking I was going to get this huge reward(Ruby was harder then Emerald IMO) and thats all I got.

                    Most. Disappointing. Moment. EVAR!

LoK: Soul Reaver. Epic opening, "To Be Continued" ending. BOO!

RPG Maker 3 I still love it but realizing it was less flexible than even RM1 was a huge letdown.

                        Grandia II's ending.

Also, I hate all of you for using the non-word EVAR.

The ONE TIME I use it is when you decide to complain.

"ain't" isn't a word, its not a contraction either, so I guess you can complain to all those people that use "ain't" also.

How about the ending to, like, every other JRPG in the last decade?

It almost seemed like Wild Arms 5 was gearing up for an at-least semi-exciting ending with the entrance of the golem and stuff (except it's pretty much written in the stars that you're going to get a golem, so it isn't very surprising),*** SPOILERS ***
but then it decided to go on for another 10 hours of travelling through identical dungeons while every character in your party had the least poignant epiphanies ever. And then some boss fights I guess? And a cloud of evil smoke or some ****? And, man, I love time travel, but I could not swallow whatever ridiculous plot twist they had going there. And what is the message? CHILDREN ARE OUR FUTURE? **** you.
                              *** END SPOILERS ***

And Persona 3 was pretty great, but the bad ending was much better than the good ending.*** SPOILERS ***
The final fight's pretty cool and all, but what's with Aigis suddenly becoming the main character of the game? Isn't the PROTAGONIST supposed to be the main character? Seriously, what is it with Japan and girl robots getting emotions? I actually liked Aigis BEFORE she got all like, "I'M SO HAPPY I HAVE SOMEONE TO PROTECT." Aside from all that, every other character being all like, "HEY, I REMEMBER EVERYTHING! LET'S GO!!" just seemed silly. Overall, the happy ending was waaaaay to happy.
                              *** END SPOILERS ***

And it's weird, I loved Grandia II, but I don't remember the ending at all.
