Sans arm waving or water cannons.
What games are they deciding to make exactly?

Post-modern gamer? Whaa? Is there a different definition of postmodern I'm unaware of?

Are Mario, Mario 2, Mario 3, Mario World, Yoshi's Island and Mario 64 the same game?!

Re: I'm respecting Sony more and more each day

Yeah...and then we have this "highly anticipated" game for the PS3 to completely rebuke everything I said.

You guys need to look at my argument in light of my advanced age as well. For someone like me, the smaller downloadable games for all the systems hold as much (if not more) appeal to me than the full $60 retail games. I dunno. I guess my original post sounds kinda fanboy-ish, and I guess it kinda is, albeit without REAL namecalling, and a decently worded opinion. I've never been one to be a fanboy of any company or system (I grew up with Nintendo, but that didn't stop me from buying-and enjoying immensely-a Dreamcast. And I've pretty much hated Sony and their consoles up until the PS3), so I think I've earned the right to expound upon the virtues of a system I happen to really enjoy.

Now I'll try to stop justifying, and merely say that I think Sony's choice of downloadable games to compete with XBLA is odd, to say the least, and I give them credit for trying to do something different.

Well, Sony's approach to competing with the live arcade games is a damn good one. most of what I see available for live arcade is garbage. sony could do that to pad out their lineup, but they arent. and I genuinely applaud that. I also love that there is no file size limit for PSN games, so developers can really cut loose with their games.

we just need more PS1 games put up on the PSN, and for them to cut all the red tape involved with getting PS1 games on the service.

Wow, Valk way to completely ignore what I was saying and my brother bought a Wii last week so I've been playing it and I prefer to use the game cube controller when I can. Brawl is an awesome game. I also use a high quality mouse, so I don't really have to move the mouse much so I'm not really swinging it around. Also, if you like using the Wiimote I don't care, that's you're business. I play games for fun not to get in stupid internet debates and swing my videogame **** around. IF IT'S FUN FOR YOU DOOOOO IT LOL ISN'T THIS WHAT VIDEOGAMES ARE FOR. FUN?

Also, my point wasn't knocking the Wiimote I was just stating that I don't like but other people do like it. So, I will choose not to use the wiimote and you can choose to use the Wiimote and we're all happy.

I didnt ignore what you said at all.

you brought up swinging the wii remote. you never actually have to do that. even games like wario ware and wii sports will respond to simple wrist movements, which are about the same degree of motion as moving a mouse.

It's called language, and I don't think the wiimote is very precise maybe I just don't have strong arms and they shake around in the air I don't know. But if we wanna get into a wiimote v mouse debate okay that's cool valk.

There were people buying it because it was Sony, but the impression I get is that a majority of people bought their $600 behemoth because they wanted an affordable Blu-Ray player. But yeah, they got cocky and it hurt them.

Same here, I can't stand the vibration on Sony's DSs. Then again, I play mostly RPGs, and vibration is almost never implemented well in any of those games. Usually, the controller just vibrates a lot when someone cast a spell or something. It does nothing to add realism to them game, and makes my hands go numb. So the first thing I do is turn the damn thing off. Vibration is ok when it actually feels like an impact, but I have yet to play a PS game that uses it well.

I'm still undecided on next generation of consoles. The Wii doesn't really interest me much. PS3 has improved a a little bit in my eyes over the the last few months, and that's only because of things I don't like about the 360. Those things being the RRoD and XBL Gold being a pay service. Right now, the PS3 has to have a lower price and decent BC for me to be interested in it.
