Does that mean the story is bad? Or just confusing?

Both. I mostly found myself asking, "Where did he come from? What was that for? Why did he do that? Why didn't he do that earlier? Now, how the hell did he survive THAT?"

Well, I think I'll still play it regardless :/

Does it wrap up any of the holes from the original?

It answers the question of what exactly happened in Dipan, mostly.

I guess it's worth a playthrough if you really liked the first one.

The only thing that concerns me thus far about the prequel, is the previous reincarnates of characters in VP1. It's hard for me to judge a game before I even play it, much less own it, but it seems kind of stupid to put them in there.

Oh, yeah, it is. Even if it is a prequel, it's like retconning. Quarter way through, it's like, "By the way, REINCARNATION. Didn't you know?"

Also, not one of the einherjar are any cool, because all you know about their history is what your read in their status page.

... God damn it, just buy something else, would ya?

Same here. My psp was sitting on the closet til I got VP. I was sucked into the storyline and played it over and over again. Makes me go button mashing crazy. This is indeed a unique game. I also got Silmeria and is indeed a VP to play.

                    Re: Valkyrie Profile

The first hour of VP is like almost nothing but talking. And the game won't let you SAAAAAAAAVE.

If you can't go an hour without saving in an RPG you don't belong playing RPGs.

I wanted to watch the Colbert Report and it kept on being like "BLAH BLAH BLAH"

yeah, some of VP's cutscenes are painfully long.

Thankfully I just used the PSP's hibernation.

I bought VP2, and so far I'm liking it. I'm not in love with it, but it's a good game. I just got out of the Forest of Spirits and have to head all the way back to Dipan. I guess I got spolied flying around in VP1.

EDIT: Well I just beat VP2. I really breezed through it. I needed to stop and grind every now and then to progress further, but overall it was pretty good. The ending left me a bit disapointed though.

The only thing I remember from playing VP2 a while back was it being hard, while easy on the eyes.
