I haven't owned a Pokemon since Yellow and have only briefly tried a couple since then but the WiFi battles and trading have me wanting Diamond/Pearl for sure. Not sure which of the two I'll get though.

Yep. There's the Battle Tower, which has several different modes, half of them involving Wi-Fi, and there's a HUGE underground world which you can access after the first Gym, where things take a turn for the Animal Crossing, if you catch my drift. What with the secret base, room decoration, fossil and gem digging, etc.

Your friends can even visit. And you can scope out their place and play Capture the Flag, where you try to reach a flag hidden somewhere whilst tossing natural disasters at each other.

There are some others I can't recall immediately, though.

Oh, I completely forgot, you can also customize your PokeBalls. By slapping certain special effects on your balls, you can change the way your Pokemon enters the arena.

yeah i'm getting this. and now i'll stop reading this topic cause i don't want to know everything about the game before i get to play it.





i played pokemon back in the day. then it got popular, and all about the kiddies. but they're still fun games.

You can also permanently transfer Pokemon from the GBA games to the DS games, and their stats, level, OT, moves, EVs, IVs and held items remain completely intact, allowing you to exploit the cloning trick in Pokemon Emerald.

What is this cloning exploit? I love the Pokemon games and i have Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, Fire Red, and plan on getting Diamond and Pearl.

But i havent actually finished a pokemon game since the original Red.

What is this cloning thing?

In Pokemon Emerald, there is a little trick which allows you to make copies of Pokemon and their held items. Unlike the cloning tricks of the GB games, this one isn't dangerous. It involves the Battle Frontier's Battle Tower.

I've used it to make copies of one-off Pokemon and Master Balls.

DP has a cloning trick, too, but it's a bit riskier from what I recall. And I recall little, since I've never used it.

I remember a trick waaaaay back in Pokemon Red and Blue that you could do in Cinnabar Island that allowed you to duplicate items. You had to find the glitch Pokemon to do it.

I used the trick to make Rare Candies--about 99 of them.
