    Wow, this is good news. Even though SotN isn't an arcade game.....but who cares?!

    I hope Haunted Castle is next.

        Man, whoever was playing that on the video really, really sucks. not a single hit on Dracula.

        Anyone know if this is the PS1 or Saturn version?

          Probably PS1, I don't think the Saturn version was ever released in America, was it?

            Unfortunately, the Saturn version never came to America. A shame, really, because Maria was a playable character.

              the saturn version had a couple of extra areas to explore as well, if i'm not mistaken.

                I also hear that the game looked like crap because the Saturn couldn't render some of the effects correctly.

                  Yeah, the Saturn's 3D processor just wasn't as good as the PlayStation's. It DID, however, have good 2D processng.

                  You remember when the Saturn had its own version of one of my favorite 3D fighting games--Battle Arena To Shin Den? I'll speak nothing more about it. -.-;

                    I heard it could successfully turn lead into gold.

                      so my guess is that konami simply ported SOTN over to saturn, and the saturn was stuck essentially emulating the ps version, instead of re-writing the graphics code to make use of what saturn could do best and better than the ps.

                        Yup! 2D. THAT was the Saturn's ONE advantage over the PS. Unfortunately, it did little to save it from its own demise.

                        I want to try the Saturn version of SotN, by the way. That, and Rondo of Blood for the Turbo Duo

                          it's the PS1 version. the saturn version apparently looked like crap, but I would have liked to run around as Maria, which the ps1 version never had.

                            Yeah, the Saturn couldn't do any of the transparency effects, so when it tried it looked like crap.

                              Right. According to CV Dungeon's Kurt Kata-whatever: all transparencies (and there were a lot) were replaced with pixel dithering.

                              The Saturn version had a few added items like a relic for double-tap dashing, the "Alcarde Spear" from Bloodlines, and music notes that caused the fairy to sing the vocal song from the soundtrack when she rested on your shoulder.
                              Oh my god! You are so beautiful.
                              I had no idea how beautiful you were.
