Online Session 22: Decision

Summary: The police force of Manna continue to pursue Redeye, and manage to take him down with a headshot. As he takes his last breaths, he finds himself in some sort of dark trance, face-to-face with Lily (see Online Session 8), who is all too happy to mock him for his failings. Amazingly, he awakens from this alive and partially healed, with his assailants in a (temporary) suspended animation.
Redeye finds his way back to Rune's house, where Namless and Pernix are annoying the others so much that Surtr looks like Mr. Wonderful by comparison. After Redeye explains (as best he can) what went down, Aria takes a look out and sees that the police and town watch are back on the hunt. The party has just a few minutes to escape town, and Rune and Aria are left with the painful decision to either leave the town that defined their lives, or leave the group that saved their lives.
Note: Redeye didn't show up until halfway through the session, so Jamos ("Namless") played Redeye as well as his own character until 10:02pm. This might explain the plethora of "Redeye's" sarcastic remarks in the face of probable death.
[09:01 pm] GM_Wave: ~~~ RP START ~~~
[09:02 pm] GM_Wave: Where we left off, the party was settling in for a quiet night... whereas Redeye's night was not so quiet.
[09:03 pm] GM_Wave: Cal: "Well, I'm calling this mattress. Good night, guys."
[09:03 pm] GM_Wave: Ghalynn: "This leech took the best one!"
[09:04 pm] GM_Wave: Half the group is looking at Surtr and Pernix, wondering how in the world there will be room for them.
[09:04 pm] Spirit: "No, I got the best one."
[09:04 pm] Namless: "I'll just choose one at random." Hops into Cal's bed by accident.
[09:05 pm] Pernix_XI: ((I am not that big, I am just heavily armored))
[09:05 pm] GM_Wave: Somehow in the darkness you can STILL see Rune blush at that comment! "Well, don't be shy", she says to Spirit and moves to the edge of her bed.
[09:05 pm] Namless: Redeye: "Damn these people are freaking persistent. Shouldn't they be busy eating donuts or something?"
[09:06 pm] GM_Wave: Namless almost loses a hit point as he takes a critical hit to the groin!
[09:06 pm] Namless: Namless: "Auugh... wrong... bed..."
[09:07 pm] GM_Wave: "There's the couch," Wev adds helpfully (if a bit too late)
[09:07 pm] Pernix_XI: "I will take that."
[09:08 pm] Namless: "Son of a *****. Where the hell am I suppose to sleep now?"
[09:08 pm] Pernix_XI: "Thank you wev for pointing that out."
[09:08 pm] GM_Wave: The couch nearly buckles under the weight of your heavy armor, but it does hold up. At least for now.
[09:08 pm] GM_Wave: Wev grunts in the affirmative from somewhere on the floor.
[09:08 pm] Namless: "That's it where are the other ladies' beds?"
[09:09 pm] Spirit: "Taken!" You hear the muffled yell from upstairs.
[09:09 pm] GM_Wave: "Sorry, the noise kind of carries in this house," Rune whispers.
[09:09 pm] Namless: "I guess it can't be helped. Aria, your future husband is visiting."
[09:10 pm] GM_Wave: Namless heads to the bedroom upstairs, and is none too happy to see the door is locked.
[09:10 pm] Spirit: "No problem... Perhaps it will be for everyone else!"
[09:10 pm] Namless: Redeye: "I starting to get tired of all this running... hufff... puff..."
[09:11 pm] GM_Wave: "No, he meant..." Rune struggles to pull Aria away from the door, "He meant himself." "That sicko," she adds more quietly.
[09:11 pm] GM_Wave: Meanwhile, as Redeye plays Band on the Run...
[09:11 pm] Namless: "Oh come on! I have a freaking headache."
[09:12 pm] GM_Wave: "Stop this madness, Redeye!" Jem shouts as he chases in hot pursuit.
[09:12 pm] GM_Wave: "Yer dead!" one of the female officers shouts from behind him. "No one makes a fool of us!"
[09:13 pm] Namless: "Your voice tells me to stop, but the gunfire tells me to run. Make up your mind!"
[09:13 pm] Namless: That was Redeye
[09:13 pm] GM_Wave: Several loud bangs make the answer very, very clear.
[09:13 pm] GM_Wave: Roll six D10's, please.
[09:14 pm] Namless: ((9, 9, 2, 10, 8, 4))
[09:14 pm] Pernix_XI: ((Six d 10s, these cops are very trigger happy.))
[09:16 pm] GM_Wave: Surtr: "No one wants to sleep with Surtr der Zerstorer" he mumbles from the kitchen, where he's taking up the entire floor space.
[09:17 pm] GM_Wave: Cal: "Of course. The first AND last name again."
[09:17 pm] Pernix_XI: ((With good reason.))
[09:18 pm] Namless: "Fine, I'm taking a bath. Any of you ladies want to join me just walk on in."
[09:18 pm] GM_Wave: Moment of truth... target rolls... 6... and 10. [[Note for Readers: "Target rolls" are rolls you want... or in this case don't want... to match.]]
[09:19 pm] GM_Wave: Redeye feels a sharp pain pierce through his gut, right in the same location he already took his self-inflicted wound.
[09:20 pm] Namless: Redeye: "Ugh... typical..."
[09:20 pm] GM_Wave: You fall to the ground in immense pain as your legs give out from under you. Redeye health: 1/6
[09:21 pm] GM_Wave: Namless takes a bath, but the only company he gets is Aria's rubber duckie, and he swears he hears some kind of comment like "need to clean the tub" over the sound of rushing water.
[09:22 pm] Namless: Redeye tries to crawl, but it is no use.
[09:22 pm] GM_Wave: Blood rushes out of your wound as you try your best to think of something.
[09:22 pm] Namless: Namless: "I guess this will have to do."
[09:23 pm] Namless: Namless honks the rubber duck.
[09:23 pm] GM_Wave: In seconds, the cops have surrounded you, making a circle around you.
[09:23 pm] GM_Wave: Aria: "Poor Mr. Duckie..."
[09:23 pm] Namless: Redeye: "Hey, guys. How's it going... cough..."
[09:24 pm] Namless: Redeye: "You mind moving a little bit. You're kind of in my way."
[09:24 pm] Pernix_XI: "The ducky must be slowly dying in there, judging by the sounds it is making."
[09:24 pm] GM_Wave: Rune drapes her arms over Spirit and... on closer inspection, she's fast asleep!
[09:25 pm] GM_Wave: ((LOL!))
[09:25 pm] Spirit: ((Lol))
[09:25 pm] GM_Wave: Jem: "How's it going? HOW'S IT GOING?! I don't know! Why don't you ask the officer I have to bury because of you?!"
[09:25 pm] Spirit: "Oh well. Goodnight pretty one."
[09:25 pm] Pernix_XI: ((Or namless is doing something stranger to it.))
[09:25 pm] Spirit: ((Dinner.))

[09:26 pm] Namless: "Sigh... this is pitiful companionship."
[09:26 pm] GM_Wave: The duckie squeaks.
[09:26 pm] GM_Wave: Hey, at least the water's nice and hot.
[09:26 pm] Namless: "I'm sorry, I didn't mean it. Don't leave me!"
[09:28 pm] Namless: Redeye: "I didn't pull one trigger. Maybe... cough... your men should learn to be less trigger happy."
[09:29 pm] System: Spirit has left.
[09:29 pm] Namless: ((KAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHNNNN!!!))
[09:29 pm] GM_Wave: Officer: "The man you killed *yesterday* might beg to differ," he says with particular emphasis on 'yesterday'.
[09:30 pm] Namless: Redeye: "Heh... fair enough."
[09:30 pm] Namless: Redeye: "I'm feeling a little tired. You mind tucking me in? That would be super."
[09:30 pm] GM_Wave: Jem seems to be considering something. "You know, I might be a hypocrite, having said I don't define the law..."
[09:30 pm] GM_Wave: Jem: "...but I'll be whatever I have to be to avenge my men and women."
[09:31 pm] GM_Wave: He looks around at his officers, points his gun downward, and with a loud bang, you feel everything black out.
[09:32 pm] GM_Wave: Redeye Health: 0/6
[09:32 pm] GM_Wave: ((Ouch!))
[09:32 pm] Namless: ((Holy ****))
[09:32 pm] Namless: ((Redeye won't let me live that one down))
[09:33 pm] GM_Wave: "That one's for you, Tony" are the last words you hear.
[09:33 pm] GM_Wave: Until...
[09:34 pm] GM_Wave: You open your eyes to total and complete darkness.
[09:34 pm] Namless: Namless falls asleep shortly after exiting the bath tub.
[09:34 pm] GM_Wave: Rune won't be too happy to see where you fell asleep, but luckily she's locked in her room at the moment.
[09:35 pm] Namless: "Snore... No ladies. I can't handle all of you. I'm but one man..."
[09:35 pm] Namless: Redeye: "The afterlife is a bit darker than I had expected."
[09:35 pm] GM_Wave: Out of the darkness, a figure, walking toward you from what seems like an infinite expanse of black.
[09:36 pm] GM_Wave: "It's something you learn to embrace.... brother." comes the wicked yet sweet voice.
[09:37 pm] Namless: Redeye: "Are you some sort of god? Because if so, I would have to complain about this decor.""
[09:37 pm] GM_Wave: The black hair and dress appear as one with the void... the green eyes, not so much.
[09:39 pm] GM_Wave: "Goddess? I suppose you could call me that if you want," she laughs.
[09:40 pm] GM_Wave: Lily: "You've made some foolish decisions, brother."
[09:41 pm] GM_Wave: Her image appears larger and larger, until she's standing over you.
[09:41 pm] Namless: "Whoa, ladies! I would prefer you NOT stick anything up there!"
[09:41 pm] Namless: Redeye: "You can say that again. Maybe next time I'll ask for a bullet proof body."
[09:42 pm] GM_Wave: It feels like more and more of a strain to say each word, yet you manage to muster up a witty quip.
[09:43 pm] GM_Wave: Lily: "And to think! You were laboring under the delusion that you didn't need me!" she giggles. Lily takes care to enunciate every single syllable as she rubs this in.
[09:43 pm] Pernix_XI: ((Okay, I am back))
[09:44 pm] GM_Wave: Lily takes her hand to your body, and you feel crushing pain where she touches you.
[09:44 pm] GM_Wave: Namless awakes to find his bottom on the bathroom threshold.
[09:44 pm] Namless: Redeye: "revenge, huh...?"
[09:46 pm] Namless: "I had the strangest dream. I'm actually kind of glad its over."
[09:47 pm] GM_Wave: Lily: "Revenge? Brother!! I would neeever want to... hurt you!" Her voice sounds as if Christmas comes early as she takes her hand across your body, leaving a trail of horrible pain in its wake.
[09:47 pm] System: Spirit (IP 98.125.***.***) enters.
[09:47 pm] Namless: "Wait a sec. Where are my clothes?"
[09:48 pm] GM_Wave: Somehow the duck finds itself sitting on top of your clothes.
[09:48 pm] Namless: "I don't think I want to know how that got there."
[09:48 pm] Pernix_XI: ((The duck is of satan.))
[09:49 pm] Namless: Redeye: "Aaaugh! Just finish it already!"
[09:49 pm] GM_Wave: ((Hey, you're the one doing strange things with... who knows what! I'm just playin' along!))
[09:49 pm] GM_Wave: Lily turns away for a moment and takes a step away from you with a smile as she begins to sing.
[09:50 pm] GM_Wave: Lily: "They awaaaaken at morn / All forsaaaaken, forlorn..."
[09:50 pm] GM_Wave: Lily: "As they praaay to the soooul of a stooone~~"
[09:50 pm] GM_Wave: It's a children's ditty penned to make fun of the monastery life.
[09:51 pm] Namless: Redeye: "The torture continues."
[09:52 pm] GM_Wave: She continues to hum for a bit (and actually sounds pretty good, mind!), as if nothing were happening. And you realize for the first time that you're completely immobile.
[09:52 pm] Namless: "I wonder if the door upstairs is still locked."
[09:53 pm] Namless: Redeye: "What? What the hell are you..."
[09:54 pm] Namless: Namless makes another attempt to go into the upstairs bedroom.
[09:55 pm] GM_Wave: You run into Ghalynn as you get to the door. "Hey I was just wondering if you have any booze in--" he turns around to you. "For the love of Idol, man! Put on some pants!"
[09:55 pm] Spirit: This wakes up Spirit who then wakes up Rune rather inappropriately.
[09:56 pm] Namless: ((How would Ghalynn know whether or not he is wearing pants?))
[09:56 pm] GM_Wave: ((Can he not sense objects??))
[09:56 pm] Namless: ((Woof!))
[09:57 pm] GM_Wave: ((Woof, indeed.))
[09:57 pm] Namless: "Pants are so overrated."
[09:57 pm] GM_Wave: ((What is "rather inappropriately"? 0.o))
[09:57 pm] Spirit: Who knows. Use the imagination.
[09:58 pm] GM_Wave: Ghalynn: "Why did we let you in this group, anyway."
[09:58 pm] Spirit: Prolly involves touching. Or dirty comments.

[09:59 pm] GM_Wave: Lily ignores you and keeps humming for a few more moments. Then, she turns back to you. "We're gonna have such FUN together, Brother!"
[09:59 pm] Namless: Redeye: "I'm sorry, but I didn't bring any cards."
[10:00 pm] GM_Wave: Rune: "Augh! No, not... oh." She rolls over blearily. "Something happen?"
[10:00 pm] GM_Wave: Aria's looking over from her bed, confused.
[10:00 pm] Spirit: "Somebody's at the door."
[10:00 pm] Namless: "Now if you will excuse me, grawn. I have a princess to awaken."
[10:01 pm] GM_Wave: Rune: "Ugh. Probably that idiot Drem again."
[10:02 pm] Namless: Namless tries opening the door.
[10:02 pm] GM_Wave: The sound woke up Wev, who hears the comment all the way downstairs and misinterprets it. "What did I do?" he asks himself.
[10:02 pm] System: Redeye (IP 72.75.***.***) enters.
[10:02 pm] Spirit: Hey! Look!
[10:02 pm] Redeye:
[10:02 pm] GM_Wave: Lily: "Cards? O-ho-ho... much better than that, brother!" She touches your head as your vision starts to swirl.

[10:03 pm] GM_Wave: Lily: "We're going to see the world together!"
[10:03 pm] Namless: ((And only two hours late!))
[10:03 pm] Redeye: ((Yeah, was too pre-ocupied.))
[10:03 pm] GM_Wave: Her voice is sugary-sweet, and equally vicious. It's a little hard to read.
[10:05 pm] GM_Wave: Lily: "In the meantime, though, I'd avoid making any more dumb moves if I were you. Like, oh, I don't know, fighting Little Brother Orpheus?"
[10:06 pm] GM_Wave: Lily: "Because... I won't always be there to help you." She laughs.
[10:06 pm] GM_Wave: ~~~ RP PAUSE ~~~

[10:14 pm] Spirit: Spirit continues doing things to Rune under the covers.
[10:14 pm] Namless: Namless is still trying to open the door.
[10:14 pm] GM_Wave: Redeye's vision swirls violently and the image of Lily begins to disappear.
[10:14 pm] Redeye: "What fun things, exactly? Are you gonna make me do something dirty or whatever?"
[10:15 pm] Pernix_XI: ((LOL))
[10:15 pm] Redeye: "If that's the case, no."
[10:15 pm] GM_Wave: Lily: "Only if you want to, Brother!" "Or if I want to..." she adds under her breath with glee as everything fades to black once more.
[10:15 pm] Redeye: I facepalm.
[10:16 pm] GM_Wave: You find yourself unable to move, much less facepalm.
[10:16 pm] GM_Wave: Aria: "Who is it?"
[10:17 pm] Namless: "Special delivery."
[10:17 pm] GM_Wave: Wev: "What is that ruckus? And I finally thought I'd get ONE GOOD NIGHT of sleep!"
[10:17 pm] Redeye: ((There's no such thing as a good night's sleep in an RPG RP))
[10:18 pm] GM_Wave: Aria: "Ooh! Ooh! What is it?!" she opens the door eagerly.
[10:19 pm] Namless: Namless simply waves.
[10:19 pm] GM_Wave: It's hard to tell how much time passes before Redeye opens his eyes again to the cold night in Manna.
[10:20 pm] Redeye: "Eh? They shot me, and just left me to die, eh?"
[10:20 pm] Redeye: "Some cops."
[10:20 pm] GM_Wave: Redeye Health: 4/6
[10:20 pm] GM_Wave: You feel as if you had been trapped in another world for years and yet...
[10:21 pm] Redeye: ((It's only been 2 hours.))
[10:21 pm] GM_Wave: As soon as you get your senses back, you realize the cops *didn't* just leave you there.
[10:21 pm] Pernix_XI: "I need something besides heavy armor so that I can sneek around at night."
[10:21 pm] GM_Wave: As Pernix says that, he shifts on the couch, creating a loud "clang!" noise. Much to Wev's discontent.
[10:21 pm] Namless: Namless also winks.
[10:22 pm] GM_Wave: Aria blinks. "Um... you said there was a delivery?"
[10:22 pm] Redeye: I Sigh. "Some night, too."
[10:22 pm] GM_Wave: The cops are still around you, except they're on the ground, motionless.
[10:22 pm] Spirit: "Aria... Close the door."
[10:23 pm] Namless: "That would be your prince."
[10:23 pm] Redeye: I stand up, slowly. I check to see if they're alive or not.
[10:23 pm] GM_Wave: It's hard to tell at first glance whether they're dead or alive. You decide to move closer to check and...
[10:23 pm] GM_Wave: ...they seem to be breathing in some kind of super-slow motion. It's like nothing you've ever seen before.
[10:23 pm] GM_Wave: Aria: "Okay, big bro!" She closes the door in your face with a smile!
[10:23 pm] GM_Wave: Rune: "Good girl."
[10:24 pm] Namless: "Hey!"
[10:24 pm] GM_Wave: "Why wasn't he wearing pants?" Aria softly asks out loud after she closes the door.
[10:25 pm] Spirit: "Put your pants on...!" Spirit yells through the door. "And you... Take yours off."
[10:25 pm] Redeye: "Am I trapped in some kind of stupid Deus Ex scenario or something...?"
[10:25 pm] GM_Wave: ((Damn, forgot about that. If you have a suggestion for an edit, feel free to email me ))
[10:26 pm] GM_Wave: Your rhetorical question echoes into the cold night without a response.
[10:26 pm] Namless: ((I don't think Aria would be too into that, Spirit.))
[10:26 pm] GM_Wave: Something feels off, though. For lack of a better way to describe it, you feel... dark.
[10:26 pm] Spirit: I don't think so either. Not sure Spirit would be so into that either.
[10:27 pm] Redeye: "I hope Lily didn't drug me or something..."
[10:28 pm] GM_Wave: As miraculous as it is that you can even walk after taking two gunshot wounds to the stomach and one to the head, something is definitely not right about you.
[10:28 pm] Redeye: "Oh, I get it, I've been zombified myself. Weird."
[10:29 pm] Namless: "Why is everybody demanding I put on pants? How mean." Namless unwittingly rolls into Cal's bed again.
[10:30 pm] Redeye: I cautiously walk to Rune's house. Maybe it's me, but I feel like i'm in some kind of alternate universe where i'm invincible or something.
[10:30 pm] GM_Wave: Once again, your assertion rings out into the silent night without response.
[10:30 pm] Pernix_XI: "PUT YOUR PANTS ON!" Pernix stands up screaming.
[10:31 pm] GM_Wave: As you leave the scene, you notice the officers start to stir a bit. But this too is in some sort of super-slow-motion.
[10:32 pm] System: Spirit has left.
[10:32 pm] GM_Wave: Namless realizes just in time that he doesn't have a death wish.
[10:32 pm] Namless: "Oh ****! I should have realized that was a rather warm body pillow!"
[10:33 pm] GM_Wave: A miniature pair of Idol's incredible pants materializes on Namless.
[10:33 pm] Namless: Namless hops out of there.
[10:33 pm] Redeye: In a few minutes, I reach the house.
[10:33 pm] GM_Wave: All of a sudden, Wev, Spirit, and Redeye hear Idol's voice.
[10:33 pm] GM_Wave: Voice of Idol: "O-ho-ho. Don't say I never gave you anything."
[10:33 pm] System: Spirit (IP 98.125.***.***) enters.
[10:33 pm] Namless: "Now Mister Armor wants me to put my pants on... what is the world coming to?"
[10:34 pm] GM_Wave: Wev: "But you... already..." he points to Namless' new pants. "Never mind. I'm going back to sleep."
[10:34 pm] Namless: ((Idol is now Santa Claus!))
[10:34 pm] GM_Wave: A knock on the door.
[10:35 pm] Redeye: ((But it's January!

[10:35 pm] Pernix_XI: I look at the door and motion for someone else to open it.
[10:35 pm] Namless: "Hey... where did these things come from? And why are they more comfortable than my old pair?"
[10:36 pm] Redeye: I knock on tha door.
[10:36 pm] GM_Wave: Per Pernix's request, Wev's head peeks out the broken window. "Redeye!" he shouts with surprise.
[10:36 pm] Redeye: "'Bout time I got here."
[10:36 pm] Pernix_XI: "O dang, I was hoping he died."
[10:37 pm] Namless: "Who's he?"
[10:37 pm] GM_Wave: Cal: "That doshinsi?"
[10:37 pm] GM_Wave: Wev: "Where were you?!" He pops his head back into the house, and a moment later the door unlocks.
[10:38 pm] Redeye: "Ah, you know, finding supplies, and running from cops."
[10:38 pm] Redeye: "They're moving in slowmo for some reason. Don't know why."
[10:38 pm] Namless: "He looks vaguely familiar..."
[10:38 pm] GM_Wave: Ghalynn: "Oh! Running from cops. Yeah, the *normal* stuff."
[10:39 pm] Pernix_XI: "Why are you running from the cops?"
[10:40 pm] GM_Wave: Rune almost trips as she rushes downstairs. "Thank goodness you're oka--wait, running from cops?!"
[10:40 pm] Namless: Namless turns to Cal. "Hey, Redeye, who's that?"
[10:41 pm] GM_Wave: Cal: "THAT," she states with a deathly glare, "is Redeye".
[10:41 pm] Namless: "There are two. Wow."
[10:43 pm] GM_Wave: Cal: "Wev," she says simply. "Will you help me murder this guy later? Please?"
[10:43 pm] Namless: "That breaks my fragile little heart, Redeye."
[10:44 pm] GM_Wave: Wev: "I'll think about it."
[10:44 pm] Pernix_XI: "I will, I don't have any bad feelings about murdering him."
[10:45 pm] GM_Wave: Ghalynn: "Not looking too good for you, buddy," he says slyly to Namless.
[10:45 pm] Namless: "Come on, now. That isn't very funny. I'm starting to feel unwanted."
[10:45 pm] GM_Wave: Voice of Idol: "Just try not to hurt my pants."
[10:46 pm] GM_Wave: Redeye: "So, about me! I escaped a bunch of cops."
[10:46 pm] Pernix_XI: "Don't worry, I just don't feel bad about murdering anybody, at least I don't think I do."
[10:46 pm] Namless: "Why would you be running from cops, Redeye II?"
[10:47 pm] GM_Wave: ((And here he is to explain!))

[10:48 pm] Namless: ((A grander entrance would have been through the floor with pyrotechnics as you rise up.))
[10:48 pm] Redeye: "The cops charged me for murder and I escaped with a smoke bomb."
[10:48 pm] GM_Wave: Wev: "How could you say you don't feel bad about--" he starts on Pernix, but Redeye says the word "murder" before he does, and his attention shifts to Red.
[10:49 pm] Pernix_XI: ((I have to agree with you J))
[10:49 pm] GM_Wave: Wev: "They're after you?!"
[10:49 pm] Redeye: "Then I was knocked out by gunshot wounds, and for some reason, Lily was talking to me in my little dream."
[10:49 pm] GM_Wave: Rune: "They charged you with murder?"
[10:49 pm] Namless: "What the hell did you do, Redeye II?"

[11:04 pm] GM_Wave: Wev drops his battle stance (but certainly not his pants). "Well, I'm... pretty sure he's... alive."
[11:05 pm] Redeye: "Does THIS prove that I'm living enough!?" I try to punch Pernix square in the nose.
[11:05 pm] Pernix_XI: "Let me prove that he is alive, if his hand dose not heal when I chop it off, I will sew it back on him."
[11:05 pm] GM_Wave: Cal decides that no draw of a knife should go to waste, and lands an intentionally paper-thin cut across Namless' bare leg.

[11:07 pm] GM_Wave: Upon closer inspection, the cut looks kind of like the Dremian letters for "CAL".

[11:11 pm] Pernix_XI: 'How does he know he is alive? You know not what you speak of, Ghalynn. Same goes for you, Nameless... By the way, I don't like the name nameless, can I call you Happy Bob?"
[11:11 pm] GM_Wave: Ghalynn looks ******. "You know, being BLIND at all, I've kind of learned to sense lifeforce."
[11:11 pm] Namless: "Only if I can call you Mister Ponycakes."

[11:12 pm] Redeye: "I'll personally give you Ghalynn's special eyesight just to prove you're wrong."

[11:13 pm] Pernix_XI: "Ghalynn, to me you don't seem good at sensing life."

[11:14 pm] Redeye: "He sensed Cal dying under a pit of sand before. Seems legit enough."

[11:16 pm] GM_Wave: Ghalynn takes a few steps across you (Pernix) so that when he mumbles, only you can hear: "I can sense *your* secret, buddy."
[11:17 pm] Pernix_XI: I whisper back "then why have you not said anything?"
[11:17 pm] GM_Wave: He continues pacing as if nothing had happened, and doesn't respond.
[11:18 pm] Pernix_XI: Angrily I stomp outside to take a breather.
[11:18 pm] Redeye: "Here, I'll do it." I take out my own knife and make a small cut on my arm.
[11:19 pm] Namless: "What are you? Stupid?"
[11:19 pm] GM_Wave: A door hastily swings open from the upstairs and Rune and Aria rush downstairs, looking mortified.
[11:20 pm] Namless: "You little ladies tend to look better with smiles, you know?"
[11:20 pm] GM_Wave: At first you think maybe it's a reaction to Redeye slitting his own arm open, but...
[11:21 pm] GM_Wave: Rune: "You guys aren't safe here."
[11:22 pm] GM_Wave: Ghalynn: "Big surprise. We aren't safe anywhere."
[11:23 pm] GM_Wave: Rune: "Aria saw it from upstairs. The cops and the town watch are out in force."
[11:24 pm] GM_Wave: Rune looks straight at Redeye. "I think they're going door to door looking for you."
[11:25 pm] Namless: Namless looks over at the actual Redeye. "So kid, tell me... what exactly seemed so smart about luring the entire police force here?"

[11:26 pm] Redeye: "Reasons. I'll explain later."
[11:27 pm] Namless: "I doubt you can come up with a reason that isn't stupid."
[11:28 pm] Redeye: "I doubt you can keep your pants on for long!"
[11:28 pm] GM_Wave: Rune grows more and more flustered with each irrelevant comment.
[11:28 pm] GM_Wave: Wev: "You said they wanted you for murder, yes?"
[11:29 pm] Redeye: "Yeah."
[11:29 pm] GM_Wave: Wev nods. "I doubt it ends well if they catch you."
[11:29 pm] Namless: "Ends well for me when I hand him over."
[11:30 pm] Namless: "Might even get a decent bounty."
[11:30 pm] Redeye: "What are we gonna do if they find us? They have guns you know."
[11:30 pm] GM_Wave: Dead silence hits the room at that suggestion.
[11:30 pm] GM_Wave: It seems as if a couple of the party members might be considering it.
[11:31 pm] Namless: "I'm sorry, did you all want to be arrested for harboring a fugitive?"
[11:31 pm] Redeye: "The only option left is doing stealth drills."
[11:31 pm] Pernix_XI: I walk back in and say"guys there are some cops walking around looking for someone. they are drawing nearer to house."
[11:32 pm] GM_Wave: Rune: "I'd rather be arrested than turn him in."
[11:32 pm] Namless: "You are an odd bird."
[11:32 pm] Redeye: "Or charge in and die."
[11:33 pm] Namless: I think I will stick with my previous suggestion."
[11:33 pm] Namless: Namless' hands begin to glow.
[11:33 pm] Redeye: "They would arrest you anyways, if they find out I'm with you guys, we're all in jail."

[11:34 pm] Namless: "All we need to say is that you broke in and then we aprehended you."
[11:35 pm] GM_Wave: Cal: "Finally, we can get a move on", she mumbles.

[11:35 pm] Redeye: "And not to discourage you, Namless, they already know that I'm with you anyways."

[11:36 pm] GM_Wave: Rune sounds really angry. "You turn him in, I'm telling them you were in cahoots!" she threatens.

[11:37 pm] Pernix_XI: Can we just get out of here, all of us, I CAN'T GO BACK TO JAIL!"

[11:37 pm] GM_Wave: (Rune's roll: 3) She literally tries to tackle you, but fails.

[11:39 pm] GM_Wave: She manages to land a somewhat painful kick on you before she gets up.
[11:39 pm] Redeye: "Alright, back door anyone?"

[11:40 pm] Namless: The glow around his hands disappears.
[11:40 pm] GM_Wave: She's talking more to Spirit and Redeye now: "Gather your stuff, and take anything of mine that you need!"

[11:41 pm] GM_Wave: She goes really silent for a second, and appears really torn as she looks back and forth between Spirit, Aria, and her home.
[11:41 pm] Namless: "You better have a freaking good plan."
[11:41 pm] Redeye: I grab my Sano Potions, stuff them in my pack, and now I'm ready.
[11:41 pm] Pernix_XI: "I could distract them."
[11:41 pm] GM_Wave: Rune: "Should... should we come with you?" she asks weakly.
[11:41 pm] Pernix_XI: "I could get away, too"
[11:42 pm] GM_Wave: Wev: "You'd be more useful in the backline" he spouts offhandedly to Pernix as he hastily stuffs his things back into his bag.
[11:42 pm] Redeye: "I'm not sure... They could possibly think that you're acquaintances of mine, but it's unlikely."
[11:42 pm] Spirit: "That is your choice. But you may be in trouble for sheltering him if you stay. Either way... Here." He presses the necklace into her hands. "Keep this."
[11:42 pm] Namless: "We could have the kid shield us as we get away." He looks in Redeye's direction.

[11:52 pm] Pernix_XI: I go outside and put the cloak on and shed the majority of the heavy armor for stealth purposes, carfull not to let anyone see me.

[11:53 pm] GM_Wave: Aria: "Yeah!" She grabs a handful of things and hurries to the back door.

[12:04 am] Spirit: Spirit jumps it and throws a rope back over.

[12:04 am] GM_Wave: There's nothing on the far side of the wall to tie the rope to, but you can hold it to keep it steady as your comrades climb it.

[12:07 am] GM_Wave: Rune's already making her way up with the rope, a bit clumsily. "Take Ghalynn."
[12:07 am] Pernix_XI: "Hurry up before they make it to us!"
[12:08 am] Namless: "See, Aria, isn't it funny flying in the air?"
[12:08 am] GM_Wave: Rune makes it over, and Cal performs a needlessly acrobatic move by taking one step up with the rope and flipping over the wall with the momentum.

Online Session 22: Decision
Jan 6, 2014
Summary: The police force of Manna continue to pursue Redeye, and manage to take him down with a headshot. As he takes his last breaths, he finds himself in some sort of dark trance, face-to-face with Lily (see Online Session 8), who is all too happy to mock him for his failings. Amazingly, he awakens from this alive and partially healed, with his assailants in a (temporary) suspended animation.
Redeye finds his way back to Rune's house, where Namless and Pernix are annoying the others so much that Surtr looks like Mr. Wonderful by comparison. After Redeye explains (as best he can) what went down, Aria takes a look out and sees that the police and town watch are back on the hunt. The party has just a few minutes to escape town, and Rune and Aria are left with the painful decision to either leave the town that defined their lives, or leave the group that saved their lives.
Note: Redeye didn't show up until halfway through the session, so Jamos ("Namless") played Redeye as well as his own character until 10:02pm. This might explain the plethora of "Redeye's" sarcastic remarks in the face of probable death.

[09:10 pm] Namless: Redeye: "I starting to get tired of all this running... hufff... puff..."
[09:11 pm] GM_Wave: "No, he meant..." Rune struggles to pull Aria away from the door, "He meant himself." "That sicko," she adds more quietly.
[09:11 pm] GM_Wave: Meanwhile, as Redeye plays Band on the Run...
[09:11 pm] Namless: "Oh come on! I have a freaking headache."
[09:12 pm] GM_Wave: "Stop this madness, Redeye!" Jem shouts as he chases in hot pursuit.
[09:12 pm] GM_Wave: "Yer dead!" one of the female officers shouts from behind him. "No one makes a fool of us!"
[09:13 pm] Namless: "Your voice tells me to stop, but the gunfire tells me to run. Make up your mind!"

[09:13 pm] GM_Wave: Several loud bangs make the answer very, very clear.

[09:21 pm] GM_Wave: Namless takes a bath, but the only company he gets is Aria's rubber duckie, and he swears he hears some kind of comment like "need to clean the tub" over the sound of rushing water.

[09:22 pm] GM_Wave: Blood rushes out of your wound as you try your best to think of something.

[09:23 pm] GM_Wave: In seconds, the cops have surrounded you, making a circle around you.

[11:05 pm] Redeye: "Does THIS prove that I'm living enough!?" I try to punch Pernix square in the nose.
[11:05 pm] Pernix_XI: "Let me prove that he is alive, if his hand dose not heal when I chop it off, I will sew it back on him."
[11:05 pm] GM_Wave: Cal decides that no draw of a knife should go to waste, and lands an intentionally paper-thin cut across Namless' bare leg.
[11:06 pm] Namless: "Dammit, Redeye! What was that for?"
[11:06 pm] Pernix_XI: ((Does he hit me on the nose?))
[11:07 pm] GM_Wave: Upon closer inspection, the cut looks kind of like the Dremian letters for "CAL".

[11:07 pm] GM_Wave: ((He hits you square in the nose, and it doesn't feel good on his fist!))

[11:08 pm] Pernix_XI: I grab his fist and perpare to cut his hand off.
[11:08 pm] Redeye: Although, it leaves a fist imprint on his helmet.

[11:09 pm] GM_Wave: Ghalynn: "Stop it!" He sounds very serious. "He's definitely alive. There's no need to cut off his damn hand."
[11:09 pm] Namless: "If he was dead, he would hardly be moving around."
[11:11 pm] Pernix_XI: 'How does he know he is alive? You know not what you speak of, Ghalynn. Same goes for you, Nameless... By the way, I don't like the name nameless, can I call you Happy Bob?"
[11:11 pm] GM_Wave: Ghalynn looks ******. "You know, being BLIND at all, I've kind of learned to sense lifeforce."
[11:11 pm] Namless: "Only if I can call you Mister Ponycakes."
[11:12 pm] GM_Wave: Cal: "What a bunch of doshinsi."
[11:12 pm] Redeye: "I'll personally give you Ghalynn's special eyesight just to prove you're wrong."
[11:12 pm] GM_Wave: Surtr: "For once I agree with the violent one."
[11:12 pm] Namless: "Why do you keep insulting me, Redeye?" (Directed at Cal)
[11:13 pm] Pernix_XI: "Ghalynn, to me you don't seem good at sensing life."
[11:14 pm] GM_Wave: Cal: "I don't know, Happy Bob. Why?"
[11:14 pm] Redeye: "He sensed Cal dying under a pit of sand before. Seems legit enough."
[11:15 pm] Namless: "Hey, don't be that way, toots."
[11:15 pm] Pernix_XI: ((Really wave, you know what I am saying.))

[11:16 pm] GM_Wave: Ghalynn takes a few steps across you (Pernix) so that when he mumbles, only you can hear: "I can sense *your* secret, buddy."
[11:17 pm] Pernix_XI: I whisper back "then why have you not said anything?"
[11:17 pm] GM_Wave: He continues pacing as if nothing had happened, and doesn't respond.
[11:18 pm] Pernix_XI: Angrily I stomp outside to take a breather.
[11:18 pm] Redeye: "Here, I'll do it." I take out my own knife and make a small cut on my arm.
[11:19 pm] Namless: "What are you? Stupid?"
[11:19 pm] GM_Wave: A door hastily swings open from the upstairs and Rune and Aria rush downstairs, looking mortified.
[11:20 pm] Namless: "You little ladies tend to look better with smiles, you know?"
[11:20 pm] GM_Wave: At first you think maybe it's a reaction to Redeye slitting his own arm open, but...
[11:21 pm] GM_Wave: Rune: "You guys aren't safe here."
[11:22 pm] GM_Wave: Ghalynn: "Big surprise. We aren't safe anywhere."
[11:23 pm] GM_Wave: Rune: "Aria saw it from upstairs. The cops and the town watch are out in force."
[11:24 pm] GM_Wave: Rune looks straight at Redeye. "I think they're going door to door looking for you."
[11:25 pm] Namless: Namless looks over at the actual Redeye. "So kid, tell me... what exactly seemed so smart about luring the entire police force here?"
[11:25 pm] GM_Wave: Aria: "But sis..."
[11:26 pm] Redeye: "Reasons. I'll explain later."
[11:27 pm] Namless: "I doubt you can come up with a reason that isn't stupid."
[11:28 pm] Redeye: "I doubt you can keep your pants on for long!"
[11:28 pm] GM_Wave: Rune grows more and more flustered with each irrelevant comment.
[11:28 pm] GM_Wave: Wev: "You said they wanted you for murder, yes?"
[11:29 pm] Redeye: "Yeah."
[11:29 pm] GM_Wave: Wev nods. "I doubt it ends well if they catch you."
[11:29 pm] Namless: "Ends well for me when I hand him over."
[11:30 pm] Namless: "Might even get a decent bounty."
[11:30 pm] Redeye: "What are we gonna do if they find us? They have guns you know."
[11:30 pm] GM_Wave: Dead silence hits the room at that suggestion.
[11:30 pm] GM_Wave: It seems as if a couple of the party members might be considering it.
[11:31 pm] Namless: "I'm sorry, did you all want to be arrested for harboring a fugitive?"
[11:31 pm] Redeye: "The only option left is doing stealth drills."
[11:31 pm] Pernix_XI: I walk back in and say"guys there are some cops walking around looking for someone. they are drawing nearer to house."
[11:32 pm] GM_Wave: Rune: "I'd rather be arrested than turn him in."
[11:32 pm] Namless: "You are an odd bird."
[11:32 pm] Redeye: "Or charge in and die."
[11:33 pm] Namless: I think I will stick with my previous suggestion."
[11:33 pm] Namless: Namless' hands begin to glow.
[11:33 pm] Redeye: "They would arrest you anyways, if they find out I'm with you guys, we're all in jail."

[11:34 pm] Namless: "All we need to say is that you broke in and then we aprehended you."
[11:35 pm] GM_Wave: Cal: "Finally, we can get a move on", she mumbles.
[11:35 pm] Pernix_XI: "Not everyone would go with that story."
[11:35 pm] Redeye: "And not to discourage you, Namless, they already know that I'm with you anyways."
[11:35 pm] Namless: "How the hell would they know that?"
[11:36 pm] GM_Wave: Rune sounds really angry. "You turn him in, I'm telling them you were in cahoots!" she threatens.
[11:36 pm] Redeye: "Because, interrogations are too hard to squirm out of."
[11:37 pm] Namless: "You people are starting to **** me off."
[11:37 pm] Pernix_XI: Can we just get out of here, all of us, I CAN'T GO BACK TO JAIL!"
[11:37 pm] Namless: "Just can't go with the obvious approach can you?"
[11:37 pm] Redeye: "Sorry, Happy Bob, but we're not letting the cops get us."
[11:37 pm] GM_Wave: (Rune's roll: 3) She literally tries to tackle you, but fails.
[11:38 pm] Namless: "Godammit, my name is not Happy Bob! And what do you think you are doing little girl?"
[11:39 pm] GM_Wave: She manages to land a somewhat painful kick on you before she gets up.
[11:39 pm] Redeye: "Alright, back door anyone?"
[11:39 pm] GM_Wave: Rune: "Listen! You only have a couple of minutes before they get around."
[11:40 pm] Namless: "Fine. Have it your way..."
[11:40 pm] Namless: The glow around his hands disappears.
[11:40 pm] GM_Wave: She's talking more to Spirit and Redeye now: "Gather your stuff, and take anything of mine that you need!"

[11:41 pm] GM_Wave: She goes really silent for a second, and appears really torn as she looks back and forth between Spirit, Aria, and her home.
[11:41 pm] Namless: "You better have a freaking good plan."
[11:41 pm] Redeye: I grab my Sano Potions, stuff them in my pack, and now I'm ready.
[11:41 pm] Pernix_XI: "I could distract them."
[11:41 pm] GM_Wave: Rune: "Should... should we come with you?" she asks weakly.
[11:41 pm] Pernix_XI: "I could get away, too"
[11:42 pm] GM_Wave: Wev: "You'd be more useful in the backline" he spouts offhandedly to Pernix as he hastily stuffs his things back into his bag.
[11:42 pm] Redeye: "I'm not sure... They could possibly think that you're acquaintances of mine, but it's unlikely."
[11:42 pm] Spirit: "That is your choice. But you may be in trouble for sheltering him if you stay. Either way... Here." He presses the necklace into her hands. "Keep this."
[11:42 pm] Namless: "We could have the kid shield us as we get away." He looks in Redeye's direction.

[11:46 pm] GM_Wave: The rubber ducky makes a long, sad squeak as Namless shoves it into his bag.

[11:51 pm] Redeye: I put on a long trench coat and a hood to cover my appearance.

[11:51 pm] Pernix_XI: I grab a heavy cloak from the cabinet and walk out the back door.

[11:52 pm] Namless: "Yeah because a group of cloaked people doesn't seem the least suspicious..."

[11:52 pm] Pernix_XI: I go outside and put the cloak on and shed the majority of the heavy armor for stealth purposes, carfull not to let anyone see me.
[11:52 pm] Namless: "Well, Aria, are you going to hurry it up?"
[11:53 pm] GM_Wave: Aria: "Yeah!" She grabs a handful of things and hurries to the back door.

[12:03 am] GM_Wave: The wall's only about seven feet high... you can try to scale it or fly over it, or make a break for the exit.
[12:04 am] Spirit: Spirit jumps it and throws a rope back over.

[12:04 am] GM_Wave: There's nothing on the far side of the wall to tie the rope to, but you can hold it to keep it steady as your comrades climb it.

[12:06 am] Redeye: "Spirit, might wanna hold extra tight when Surtr climbs over."
[12:06 am] GM_Wave: Wev hovers a foot in the air, looking back at the rest of the party. "I can only take one more, tops."
[12:06 am] Namless: Namless lifts off.
[12:07 am] GM_Wave: Rune's already making her way up with the rope, a bit clumsily. "Take Ghalynn."
[12:07 am] Pernix_XI: "Hurry up before they make it to us!"
[12:08 am] Namless: "See, Aria, isn't it funny flying in the air?"
[12:08 am] GM_Wave: Rune makes it over, and Cal performs a needlessly acrobatic move by taking one step up with the rope and flipping over the wall with the momentum.

[12:20 am] Pernix_XI: "Okay well someone, lead the way.

[12:22 am] GM_Wave: As you head north from Manna, you catch a glance of the East entrance to the city, patrolled by nearly a dozen armed guards.
[12:23 am] GM_Wave: "I wonder if we'll ever be back," Rune mutters wistfully as she eyes the nighttime lights of the town she called home.
[12:23 am] Namless: "Probably not. Why do you think I'm so ******?"
