So........

as kind of part of my catharsis for my divorce that is still dragging on, I've been putting down some bare bones versions of some of my songs (most written before the divorce) and some covers that have hit home lately.

I'm also trying to get the courage up to do some open mics. I wasn't gonna post anything here because I haven't been real active lately, but some positive response from the few people that have seen them has kind of sparked interest in what more people think.

I listened to your Eels, Radiohead, and Weezer covers. You seem like you know what you're doing with the guitar, I imagine you've been playing for a while. It sounds like it at least. I'm equally impressed by your singing voice, you did Lucky really well, in my opinion. Flower was actually my favourite of the three though. You even pulled off a good falsetto at the end of No One Else. I think you're definitely ready for an open mic night... I say go for it.

Much appreciated. I've been playing on and off for... more years than my skills show at all. Very little in the way of a lead guitarist. Been content with rhythm.

Holy crap I just figured out I've actually been playing almost half my life... 13 of 28 years... that seems like a lot. I should get better.

I really just started playing and singing again though as the past 7 years I've been living with an opera major who sometimes was a bit critical of my voice/skills when I was roughing stuff out.
