Re: TMNT - the new movie

I'm very certain they changed a couple of gangsta dudes in at least one of the movies, and I think I remember one of them being turned into a warthog or something like it.

The first movie was about an underground gang of ninja thiefs, there were no monsters in sight.

The second movie was about there origins. There you got to see other mutants, like Toka and Razor.

And the third movie had the ancient "ceptor" which brought them to feudal japan, still, no Bebop and Rocksteady.

The turtles was a pretty big part of my childhood. :P

Huh. Maybe I did see the second movie, then. Which movie was it where the Shredder was knocked into a collapsing dock after taking a dose of The Ooze?

Nash, why the hell are you even posting in this topic, didn't you say, the new turltes movie looks too "kiddy" or "childish" quote, unquote? You said this at the domain.

I am pretty drunk right now. But yeah.

I wish some poeple were more open minded, I really think this could be the Batman Begins of the TMNT movies. Especially with the new info released on this flick.

I used to hate the hell out of poeple like Caciss, but at least he admitted it could be good.

              Well, Mikey's voice wasn't bad.

That's one piece of the formula.

Re: TMNT - the new movie

Looks like Mako's the latest to end his life and career with a cartoon voice-over.

                Or not.

                http://www.superherohype.com/news.php?id=4558

TMNT writer-director Kevin Munroe announced on Thursday at the San Diego Comic-Con that Asian-American actor Mako was going to voice Splinter in the CG animated film. Now, by a very sad coincidence it is being reported that Mako died a day later, on Friday.

Japanese-American actor Mako, who was Oscar-nominated for his supporting role in "The Sand Pebbles" and who co-founded the nation's first Asian-American theater company, died Friday of esophageal cancer at his home in Somis. He was 72.

In an acting career spanning more than four decades, Mako appeared in TV series including "MASH," "I Spy," "Quincy" and "Frasier," as well as films ranging from "Conan the Barbarian" to "Seven Years in Tibet," "Pearl Harbor" and last year's "Memoirs of a Geisha."

He also voiced characters in animated series including "Dexter's Laboratory," "Samurai Jack" and "Avatar: The Last Airbender."

Re: TMNT - the new movie

First I saw the character banners on IGN and was turned off, then I read this thread and was excited, but now I read this:
I really think this could be the Batman Begins of the TMNT movies.
and don't know what to think. LOL

EDIT: Ok, now I've watched the trailer and I'm back to being less than interested.

Don't take this as me saying the movie will be bad, I don't know nearly enough about it and too early anyway to make a judgement. Just giving my reactions as they came.

MORE EDIT: Anybody know where I could download episodes from Ninja Turtles: The Next Mutation?

Re: TMNT - the new movie

Marcus, no offense but the original movie wasn't close to the comics. If it was, Splinter would have been asking Shredder to honorably commit suicide by the end of the movie, and the Purple Dragons would have made an appearance somewhere. Also, in the movie April was a reporter, in the comic books she wasn't. During the TMNT first encounter with Shredder, April wasn't present yet. It was still an okay movie though.

Anyway I hope the new movie is like the older comic books, I loved those. For those that don't know the difference, the "The City At War" storyline in the new TV Show had the Turtles standing upon a pile of rubble, while the original comic storyline of the same name had the Turtles standing on a pile of dead bodies, each dismembered in a different way. HUGE difference.

Anyhow, for those interested, you can read the entire first issue of the original comic book series here:

I mean to say that the Turtles would ask Shredder to commit sepaku, not Splinter. LOL. Sorry it's been a while.
