Job description
AOL Sales Rep. sometimes Verification
Evaluation
I don't know its the weirdest job I have had...before I worked construction and my former boss got out of construction so I found this one. Now I call people and try to sell them AOL for $1 for free or set them up on highspeed...calling people blows because everyone hates AOL. I feel morally obligated not to sell people AOL sometimes...but I can't help it if people are dumb as bricks. Oh yeah did I mention these are all former customers...and some willingly take it. I get yelled at all the time and how I am a horrible person...but I think its funny because they think we are AOL when in reality our company is hired by AOL.
The only perks of that job is everyone I work with is actually pretty cool and most everyone there likes me a lot...so I don't think they would ever fire me. And occasionally they let me do verification where I listen to sales that have been recorded and make sure the rep did everything right. Its better than calling but its kind of boring. Oh Yeah and everyone and there mom smokes there...people come to work stoned and drunk all the time...they don't really care unless you do your job...ha it suprisingly pays decent though...with sales commissions I make any where from $7.50 - $10.00
"Do you know anything about an agreement you didn't work on, that was sent to another state agency, while you were in the midst of the fiscal year bureaucratic fisting a couple weeks back?"
Let me get right on that.
So you're a fish out of water...
Keep swimming.
What else can you do?
Line/prep cook, able to do morning/lunch/night shifts, and double shifts no problem. Also have never turned down a day where they call me in or cancel one of my days off.
Pay?
Minimum wage. Gonna ask for a ****ing raise whenever the boss decides to come back from his little vacation. Some places offer first timer morning cooks $12 starting wage. :/
the people who check our meter always check despite the stuff that I put in their way (like a pile of bikes). I even got a "nice effort" note left on the meter once.
thats awsome! im sooo sabotaging my meter!
ohh i am currently retired after 3 years of work. im in school to become a hvac technichian.
Position
Local Newspaper Delivery Dude. Dogs beware. I am armed with chewie bones.
Evaluation
Pays pretty darn good, considering I work once a week.
About 300 papers to send out.
Must find better job.. But I doubt it. There are crap for jobs around here.
If I'm in need for cash, I might whore my photoshop/flash skills and do some freelance/commission work.
I just accepted the "call centre quality monitor-er-er-er-er(?)"job! It pays $28,000/y (or about $14.58/h), which is more than what I was making.
Bonus for me is that I won't be on the phone, I'll just be listening to other people's calls.
Thing that I haven't told them is that if the Shift Supervisor place calls back, I'll commit to that one instead. Should that happen, I'd be making $16/h to start and working in a much better and easily accessable area: Metrotown, for those who know the area. (The other's in Surrey.)
BTW - The job I left DIDN'T pay me for the second time, even though the payroll person told me on two separate occasions that I would get paid. Lying so-and-so's!!!!!!! Why do they lie to me so much, why?!? (Good riddens!)
take them to the labour board to get your money back.
Thank you Ωbright for the sig fix!
Card Three is released! You can find it here!
Kitchen, doing anything (grill, deep fryer, bun station, fried station, or front swamp). I worked the AM shift and was the only regular worker trained to open the store, which meant going in at 6am and handling the kitchen by myself until the lunch shift came in.
That and I had to hand make onion rings.
Evaluation-
Horrible. Working with fast food is gross. The pressure to get out orders under 3 minutes yet not being able to make certain items until ordered was ********. The managagement was decent and a plus side was that the store was new, meaning there weren't any real issues of seniority amongst the regular workers.
Position:
I enter new patients into the system, attach patient sheets to proper referrals, mail-out the bills to the insurance companies.
Evaluation:
Meh. It's get's really annoying when the proper referrals haven't been printed, forcing me to dig through file cabinents. Ten dollars an hour. Is nice.
Ugh, so there's this fat mother ****er and his whole family is full of fat mother ****ers and they're all rude and they come to the place everynight.
They play ticket games and win about 20000 tickets a day between the 4 of them; and they have everything that is possible to redeem in our redemption station (where I sadly work) but still have about 130000 tickets to themselves (much more than whatever our most important item is).
So anyway, they come every night and think cause they win so many goddamn tickets that they run the whole store. They shout to our techs across the room even if they're helping someone else cause they need more tickets put in the machine in order for the machine to finish paying out their disgustingly massive er....payout! They come and demand that I call someone if they aren't hearing them and sit and wait until I do it cause me going "Allright I'll send someone" isn't good enough for them.
So anyway, normally I don't really care, I don't make eye contact with them and I don't get disturbed by them that way. But man, last night they had such a ****ing payoff they were there til well after closing getting tickets and then of course they weren't satisfyed with just taking the tickets; getting them counted and going home. Ooooh no, they had to take another 20 minutes to pick out something. And then I had to clean the place up afterwards so I didn't get done til about an hour and ten minutes after closing.
