Like when he compared Episode 3 to Othello or Hamlet, man what a kneeslapper that was!

    Oh wait...he wasn't joking

IMHO, Kevin Smith is an overrated sack of ****. The only good movie he ever did was Chasing Amy. I don't want to start a big argument here; just adding my two cents.

He was an appropriately annoying jackass on Veronica Mars.

Heh. His finger's on the pulse of the Internet for sure.

I've been a fan of his since Clerks came out, and I'm still a fan of his. I am eagerly anticipating Clerks II, though I do understand those people who don't like him.

I just think Kevin Smith gets too much credit for "clever" dialogue. What about Neil LaBute or Richard Linklater? They deserve their heyday as much as Kevin Smith...although with A Scanner Darkly, Linklater just might.

                Clerks: A

Mallrats: B+ (mostly for Brodie Bruce)

                Chasing Amy: B

                Dogma: C+

                J&SBSB: C

                Notice a pattern?

Clerks II probably isn't gonna be that good, although I'm hoping it is.

Oh yeah, and I look just a lot like Silent Bob. I just need the overcoat and learn to not talk and I'll be set.

Having George Carlin play that religious guy in Dogma was a stroke of genius, but it was negated by the inclusion of the s*** monster.

Yeah, George Carlin didn't play an angelic figure in the Bill and Ted movies way before Dogma or anything.

I'm sorry...your sarcasm just dripped on me. I've never seen the Bill and Ted movies, so I was not aware of such matters...

Your opinions don't matter until you've seen the Bill and Ted movies.

"An Evening with Kevin Smith" is awesome, and why didn't anybody mention Jersey Girl?

Once again, I am quite sorry for not having seen Bill and Ted, but seeing a commercial many years ago where Keanu Reeves goes, "Whooaaahhh" was enough to make me not want to see it (them). Little did I realize in future years that his "Whoa!" would become a running joke. Not a big fan of his, but I AM looking forward to A Scanner Darkly, which opened last night, with him in it.

I liked Dogma. I don't think I've watched any other Kevin Smith movies except half watching but not paying attention to J&SB Strikes Back at a friend's house.

His tour DVD is excellent but Jersey Girl is sentimental and embarrassing.
