You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to John Mora again.

    THANK YOU!!

I love the soundtrack to Solaris. Cliff Martinez (ex-drummer of Red Hot Chili Peppers) is an amazing composer. He also did the score to Traffic and sex, lies and videotape.

I highly recommend those to youl, Mora.

The Bourne Supremecy - What can I say? I just really like Bourne's theme, and To The Roof is terrific in my opinion.

Dune - Yes, it's Toto. Yes, it simply screams 80's. But I love it. The movie may not be that great, but the soundtrack really stands out.

      Blade Runner
      - Everything's already been said.

Empire Strikes Back - The Asteroid Field. 'nuff said.

Aliens - James Horner loves to rip himself off. So does everyone else. Even if you haven't seen the movie, you've heard the soundtrack since it seems like 1 out of every 5 trailers uses its music, especially Bishop's Countdown.

A Beautiful Mind - Horner again. The paranoia theme is terrific.

The Thomas Crown Affair (Remake) - A wonderfully jazzy little soundtrack to an excellent movie. Sinner Man especially stands out.

I should also give some props to the Superman Returns soundtrack. While it's not entirely top to bottom strong, the melancholic theme that comes out during Little Secrets/Power of the Sun, How Could You Leave Us?, Reprise/Fly Away, and especially You're Not One of Them is terrific.

The score was performed by Kronos Quartet. Don't remember the name of the "original" theme, which all the other pieces of music in the film (besides that weird game-show-in-the-living-room music) are variations of.

Are you referring to the Russian version or the American remake?

American. I hear the Russian version is a lot longer and a lot more dull.

                Re: Your favorite film scores

Well, let's put it this way...I came home from work, and tried to watch it and fell asleep about halfway through. I tried to watch it the next night, and again fell asleep. Years later, I watched the American version, and once again fell asleep in the middle of the movie. So I've never seen either version all the way through. Although, to the defense of both versions, I was really tired every time I tried to watch both of them, so that doesn't necessarily mean either was boring, just that I was tired.

The music in Stalker, the Tarkovsky film.
                    The Akira score.
                    Zoetrope soundtrack, composed by Lustmord.
                    Silent Hill score.

thats all that come to mind.
Also, I realize that Graeme Revell of SPK fame has done a lot of movie scores.
I just cant remember what any of them sound like.

I'd rather just listen to SPK.

                    edit: just read the topic.
I somehow forgot Blade Runner, and the obvious choice of Dune. Yeah. It was toto. But it was also BRIAN ENO.

                    edit one more time:
The orginal Russian Solaris, done by the same guy that did Stalker, was amazing, and puts the american version to shame.

                    NO CONTEST.
