soooooo I said that I might find some enjoyment out of Sucker Punch, and that is true. Emily Browning's cameltoe was pleasing to my eyes. but that's about it.
HOLY CRAP, WOW. WHAT A BAD, BAD MOVIE. any of you guys following me on Twitter probably saw and were incredibly annoyed by my many twitters about it. and I'm sorry, but it had to be said. Transformers 2 is officially no longer the worst movie I've ever seen in a theater. but with Transformers 3 coming out this summer, I'm sure Sucker Punch won't be the reigning champ for long.
anyway, the movie was completely ridiculous. it was something I'd thought about a little before I saw the movie, going off trailers and commercials. but it really hit me while actually watching it, the first time Babydoll fights some lame looking monsters (robot samurai guys or something retarded that a middle-schooler probably drew on his binder): I turbo don't care. like, there's nothing at stake, so why bother? we all know that by the end of this fight scene, she's going to walk away completely unscathed, because she's not really fighting anything. she gets smacked around, so what?
see, Inception almost suffered from the same problem, but overcame this very easily and very simply. if something bad happened to one of the characters in the dream, their brain would get ****ed up and they'd be in a coma or whatever you want to call it. in Sucker Punch, I guess the same thing holds true, except not really. lobotomies. whatever. even if stuff is really happening to these girls, the movie never explicitly tells you so. and if it did, well... who gives a ****? none of these characters have any backstories or personality. they cry a lot. they dress really sexy-like but they look like teenagers so you just end up feeling like a creepy perv when you're ogling Vanessa Hudgens' buttcheeks. they're completely devoid of anything remotely interesting about them, and they seriously cry all the damn time.
that's another problem I have with the movie. it's incredibly hypocritical and waaaaaaaay sexist. it has this "girl power" message that it crams down your throat, but it exploits its actresses so much. it dresses them up in slutty outfits and makes them dance for guys and seduce guys and hang all over guys to get what they want. what a ****ed up message for a PG13 movie to have! "hey girls, you can get whatever you want! ...if you dance like a whore and talk real sweet to guys that have what you want."

Inception stole that from Paprika, and the Matrix, and every other movie about going into other peoples minds and dreams.

yeah. I know. dumbie. I was just using a recent example, the first one that came to mind.
it was fitting to me because a lot of people seem to be comparing Inception and Sucker Punch.
