Still sitting in jail. They did set bail, it was 20 000. I doubt he has any money and I'm not sure if his family even supports him or his case(they wanted him to plead instanity, apparently.) Now he's going for self-defense. Not gonna lie, it bothers me - the fact that he's claiming self-defense when it's obviously bull****(it took months for him to even own up to doing it), hearing stories about people walking for crimes they obviously commited, the possibility of having to go on the witness stand... The whole court thing has been pretty monotonous.

Gloom's House of Horrors. It's near the Halifax Metro Center, it's the little black shack with the ugly cartoons all over it. I have to say though, their prices are insane! (Much like the owner.)

So the guy who stabbed me and my friend plead guilty. Which is good because I wasn't looking forward to a ten day trial. It doesn't mean much though, he only confessed after the preliminary inquiry, when he realized he had no case(that was what the prosecutor thought anyways.)

The sentencing was yesterday. He got two years new time, two years probation, and a ten year weapons ban. Seems like a pretty light sentence, but supposedly it's pretty harsh for Canadian law. :/

Interesting sidenote: He was assaulted in jail - they brought it up at the sentencing - got to see him with a black-eye, it was pretty sweet.

Hi, Owl of Parliament, I'm pretty new here, so you likely haven't seen me around before. I just read through this thread, and am very relieved to see you've came through ok.

It sounds like you owe a lot of thanks to your friend. I hope he recovered from his wounds swiftly, and that they weren't too serious.

His sentence seems much too light, he'll still be a very young man at the end of his probation, not sure this will do a lot to reform him, especially seeing as how he doesn't seem to want to make right by his wrongs and admit to the truth.
