Damn, Brian Owl Shane of Rushton Parliament. And to think, this happened in Canadaland, not Detroit or Noo Yawk or some such. It's good to hear that you at least seem to being doing well after that terrifying ordeal. My heart actually slowed down a bit as I was reading that, and I had to start from the beginning after the third paragraph.
Good luck in your recovery, and I hope the guy who did this rots behind bars for a long time.
How does "random stabbing in the middle of the street resulting in grievous injury" not easy enough for an attempted murder? This wasn't some mugging; he clearly meant for you to die where you lay. Wouldn't assault just be a misdemeanor?
At any rate, I hope they throw the book at that guy. Hope you have a speedy recovery.
In the beginning the universe was created. This made a lot of people very angry and is widely considered as a bad move.
yikes, that's crazy! i'm glad it looks like you're out of the woods danger-wise, though.
is it the city/province/country bringing up charges against him, or your lawyer? if it's the government doing it, you may be able to get a lawyer and pursue heftier charges against him, depending on your inclination on the subject. though I'll certainly admit I know very little about canadian law.
10 years certainly doesn't sound like enough, IMO.

In Nevada, I don't know about other states or countries, people who commit murder usually only serve an average of like 8 years of jail time before they get out.
Hopefully this guy gets put away longer than that.
So glad you made it through mostly okay. I've never experienced anything even slightly like that. Do you have a new perspective and appreciation for life now? I always wondered if that really happens. Also, is all that surgery and hospital time going to cost you? I know Canada has universal healthcare but being American I have no idea what such a thing entails.
That's terrible and not at all the kind of story I was expecting. It really puts things into perspective that that kind of messed up stuff can happen to anyone. But I'm glad you're recovering alright, and it's great to see you back here.
