I've seen them all so far. It's not nearly as good as it was in season one.
That big guy was funny.
I'd argue just the opposite. I was only mildly amused by Bang's first season. But oddly enough, a sort of sitcom Dorian Grey situation occurred: as How I Met Your Mother got progressively less entertaining, Big Bang became more so.
And the big guy was pretty good. Hopefully he ends up popping in now and again, though making him a regular cast member would probably wear the character (such as it is) too thin.

"The Big Bang Theory" is not a crappy show. Sure, there are more comedies that I can count on one hand that are better than it released within the last five years, but it definitely has its moments.
Maybe it hits a little too close to home for some people here...
The video without the laugh tracks is inaccurate because:
A) That scene wasn't even close to being one of the funniest on the show
B) Awkward, intangible pauses will throw off the humor in any scene
But I agree: comedy shows without laugh tracks are the wave of the future. I love Arrested Development, 30 Rock, and The Office. But I still can find room in my heart for a "traditional sitcom" that hits a nerdy tone with me.
Blah blah blah. Hating stuff because it's popular, how...expected.
there are plenty of reasons to hate Big Bang Theory. maybe it's the unlikeable, mean spirited characters, the contrived, inconsequential "storylines", maybe it's that the show's only four seasons in and they've already beat the dead horse one million times with the same jokes over and over and over. "oh, the girl went to community college and that's HILARIOUS because her friends are all GENIUSES LOLOLOLOLOL... oh, the two creepy stereotypes (the Jewish guy and the Indian guy) are TOTALLY HOMOZ LOL JK MAYBE? ROFL Sheldon has no social skills and he will never develop or grow as a character and therefor I don't care about him but LOL HE JUST SAID 'BAZINGA'!"
Seriously, that video with the laugh track edited out underlines everything that's wrong.
Really? A small fraction of a single episode is enough to condemn an entire series that's currently in its fourth season, which presumably means it has over 50 episodes under its belt? Riiight.
I agree with everything Funk said. Except that 30 Rock really isn't all that funny. Office is good, however (though I've never watched it with a great deal of regularity), and Arrested Development appears to have an entrenched position as one of the all-time sitcom champs. I'll agree that laugh tracks are basically archaic. But their mere presence is not enough to condemn a show entirely.

I read their contract has been renewed for another 3 years, also.
30 Rock is funny though, I accidentally watched an episode once. Gotta love Alec Baldwin.
