Re: Hangover in a can deemed unsafe

Not that I am on board a ban of the drinks, but I think it is completely different between something that is unhealthy and will kill you over years of repeated behavior--compared to something that can have severe consequences by drinking 2 in less than two hours.

I mean, I have a high tolerance for alcohol, I drink quite a bit for the sheer pleasure of my liver failing in the future--but 10 beers in 2 hours + Whatever crazy thing you mix it with is super dangerous--especially if that person decides to try to drive.

On the other hand, the amount of time it would take you to down a 12 pack (and the non-stimulant) would be significantly longer, you'd feel more drunk and could obviously figure out you weren't in a condition to drive.

So, what they're saying is that mixing an upper and a downer is bad?
Well, ****. You learn new things every day.

I remember when sparks first came out years ago, and I was like "haha, I wanna try one. This is the worst idea ever."

It was gross, and we all had a good laugh. But then they stuck around for years. Why did it take so long for people to figure out this is a bad idea?

Things I've drank multiple times on my own in college which are much worse than 4loko:

          -An atomic car bomb
Half a pitcher of guiness with a full (10oz) large rock of Jameson and Baileys dropped in

          -A Jedi Mind Trick
A Jaeger bomb, an Irish car bomb, a Wisconsin lunch box and a mind eraser drank in rapid succession, usually in less than 1.5 minutes while racing someone else (if you don't know what these drinks are, they basically all have about 2 drinks worth of alcohol a piece so the whole thing is around 7-8 standard drinks)

          -A two-story beer bong
A plastic tube filled with 3-5 beers held from the second story of a house while you chug the beer as it flows down

          -A keg race
You and 5-9 of your closest friends drinking an entire keg of beer by the pitcher in the span of about an hour

          -A case race
You and a parter drinking 24 beers in about an hour

So yeah, 4loko is bad, but it isn't that bad. People are aware of the effects--hence the blackout in a can nickname.

As orius said, the problem is the binge drinking, not the drink itself. Banning it is just stupid and isn't going to change anything. Thousands of kids will die next year from alcohol poisoning, whether or not 4loko is legal.

I heard they're not pulling Four Loko. They're going to remove the stimulants.

            Just like Sparks.

I've got fond memories (or lack thereof) of drinking Four Loko. A friend had dubbed it Liquid Time-Travel.

Kids are going to give themselves alcohol poisoning as long as alcohol is considered taboo and blah blah blah.

I like fourloko if my goal is to getting really drunk. I don't see how it's any worse than liquor. But whatever, I mostly drink beer now anyway.

Good, it'd be depressing if you did because you have no friends to do it with.

I wouldn't be friends with people who did anyhow!

I've been sober for over 8 years now. Energy drinks (without alcohol) are my daily substitute.

Banning this drink is a silly idea; others have petty much covered my views regarding it.

The Orange-flavored Joose tastes the same as vomit. Literally.

The Dragon Joose and Jungle Joose are tolerable. I once chased a Dragon Joose down with an Olde English 32 oz and a much cherished plant.
