Re: Im sorry this happened to you...

Put me in the camp of people who would probably like BG, but missed the beginning and never managed to find the time or opportunity to catch up. Ditto for Mad Men. And I had been enjoying Big Love and Dexter in the beginning, but ended up dropping the premium channels are a major rate hike that I simply couldn't accept on general principle.

For Breaking Bad, catching up isn't tough. First season was strike-shortened, barely longer than Walking Dead's first will be. So thirty-three eps, I think. With the pilot being two hours. First season's a tad uneven until things pick up around the time he shaves his hair and starts blowing things up, second and third pure gold throughout. Best episode might be the next to last one of the second season. Without spoiling anything, it contains quite possibly *the* pivotal moment in Walt's life.

Got around to watching the second episode tonight. It's mighty fine gore. But I didn't see the black-suited zombie. =(

I thought he was the one that got all up close and sniffy with Glenn when they were all gored up.

Caught up with Mad Men, great show. I want to watch Breaking Bad, but haven't had a chance to watch it just yet.

As for the Walking Dead, great show so far, and the quality is better than most zombie movies out.

Never watched Battlestar, last scifi show I watched was Firefly and it was pretty amazing.

Last week they tackled the ugly issue of racism. This week we get sexism and domestic violence. I hope they don't keep up with this "Very Special Episode" thing.

Hey, those things are gonna exist. I don't think they're sermonizing quite yet.

Well, that stuff happens. And Mora's right; they're not necessarily cramming a message down our throats. The whole domestic violence thing, to me, was merely the catalyst to

It was a low-key episode, since three-quarters of it basically took place in the refugee camp. Second one was still the best. But all in all, I'm still enjoying it.

They desperately needed to start fleshing out characters, I wasn't upset~

They have to build up to something for the finale, and plus, I enjoy the character building episodes. The next episode seems to be pretty hectic.

I agree with that it just feels clunky having "The N-word scene" and "The Wife Slapping scene." Those issues should be in there but I wish they just felt like another part of the drama instead of feeling like they stuck the spotlight on them a little too much. It's like they didn't blend it enough and there are still chunks of flour left in the batter.

I think they weaved it into the deputy's relationship frustrations quite well. And you could just as easily call that "the vibrator" scene if you wanted.

The n-word usage didn't stick out. The wife beating, a little. But they made up for that momentary awkwardness by using it to show a whole new side to the jilted deputy, one that teases at some very fertile ground for potential conflict later (not between him and Alabama Man the wifebeater, but because of who those feelings had been directed towards before Captain Domestic Abuse provided a soothing outlet for them).
