That picture is seriously confusing the hell outta me.

Did to me too until I read the article and looked at it again. I think the white part in the lower right is the alligator, and the rest is the python (head on the left side and tail on the right side), fattened up by (but not form-fitting to) the alligator.

I think the tail of the python is on the left, as I don't think the python would have eaten the alligator tail-first. This was likely a heads-on confrontation.

Still, the picture is very confusing to interpret. I'm not sure why what I presume is the python's tail is so massive in girth, and then all of a sudden shrinks close to the tip.

It's so bizarre to look at.
