    Re: Land of the Lost.

Most of Will Ferrel's movies are bad. So I have no hope for this movie. He isn't very funny and if you think otherwhise then you are wrong. You also probably find this to be funny...

That was a horrible HORRIBLE movie. It was just a spazfest and simply annoying. I barely managed to stop from committing suicide during that movie.

That movie was great, but I felt the rocket skates at the end was just too much. If they had cut out those last 30 seconds or so, the movie would have been without flaw and would qualify as comedic gold.

I don't know why you guys expect Will Ferrell to act too much different in his movies, that's like his comedic persona.

        Though that basketball movie sucked.

          Comedy is subjective.

However, I would have to say that, to a certain extent, Ferrel's comedic appeal has solidified his persona as being a rousing success. The guy has produced two "best of" SNL specials (I think he's the only one to do that), several blockbuster films (with no franchise or sequel-milking as opposed to someone like Mike Myers) and a very popular online meme with "the landlord".

I'd say the only mainstream comedian with more star power is Adam Sandler and regardless of your personal opinion of either of them - their longevity in such a tumultuous and fickle industry speaks volumes to their broad comedic appeal.

As for ELF, it's a kids movie. It's supposed to be "spazy", frenetic and high-energy. So, uh, yeah.

I hear that hairdresser movie he did has its moments.

Robert Smigel wrote it so it can't be thaaat bad.

You might wanna stop watching movies from a genre you don't particularly care for.

comedies are some of the only movies I feel like watching anymore. my interest in movies has waned so much lately. bad news for someone that wants to be a film maker.

Will Ferrel plays the straight man in Stranger than Fiction, and I enjoyed that movie quite a bit.

I will admit that I found Stranger than Fiction to be better than I expected. It was such a far out concept that I couldn't help, but sink my teeth into. I was expecting more comedy, though the more serious nature kind of worked for it.
