Some things have changed.
Now, only Administrators can create social groups. This is to prevent the flood of never-used groups that happened before. if you want a group created, the method is now the same as getting a game forum.
also, groups will regularly be pruned by Admins. ALL groups. even groups the Admins are not members of. if a group goes two months without a real post in it (starting from this date), it will be deleted. groups with more than 15 pages of posts will be pruned down to 12 regularly (12 to make room for more posts). this is no longer the responsibility of group creators, since only admins can do it now. but if existing group owners would like to keep some older posts intact, they are certainly welcome to do the message pruning themselves.
In case you forgot how to access Social Groups, click your User CP link, and you'll find "Social Groups" in the sidebar under "Networking".
