Broken Oath: Bonanza Reviews "ZacK and Miri" and "Role Models"

Sorry, guys. I broke my oath, and I hope you can forgive me.

Caciss said in a recent topic that he had seen the movie, and I forgot to mention that I had seen it as well (specifically, Halloween night). The movie has a lot of chemistry with the cast, and my loyalty to Seth Rogen only gets stronger with every movie I see him in. Elizabeth Banks, as well as the rest of the supporting cast, also did terrific jobs. The one thing that gets me about the movie is this:

    *** SPOILERS ***
There is a scene where Zack talks to Miri about her having sex with another guy, and he is objecting to it. He finally confesses that he loves her, and that he was sure each of them felt something when they first had sex, but Miri plays it off and berates the guy, which I believe is pretty messed up. Of course, they reconcile in the conclusion.
    *** END SPOILERS ***

Despite this, many parts of the movie had me floored, and thus, I really wouldn't mind seeing this flick again. I'll review Role Models later.

Now comes part two: Role Models.

I have to say, it was decent. Bobb'e Thompson shines most in this movie, despite his character's constant swearing and flaming. Then again:

    *** SPOILERS ***
He is being raised by a single mother. He actually curses in front of her, and all she says to him is "Watch your mouth." I wonder what would have really happened if there was a father there...
    *** END SPOILERS ***

Paul Rudd and Sean Scott have a good chemistry, and "McLovin'" seems to to be rehashing his previous persona from Superbad: starts off slow, but then really picks up the slack near the end of the movie. It's pretty good to see once, but after that, I'd stop there.

karr and I saw Role Models... I watched the Red band trailer the other night, and I wished I hadn't for the pure fact that the spontonaity of Bobb'e's brash cursing was gone as I saw it coming.

Either way, I was still laughing out loud and the theatre seemed to enjoy it as a whole.

I wished there was more Bobb'e

Z&M had a couple funny moments but was pretty stupid for the most part.
