Just Got Back from Voting. (Congrats, Obama!)

Mom woke me up at 3:45 a.m., and by the time we got to out voting destination at 4, three people were already waiting there. Lucky for us, we were out of the rain, and more people crowded behind us in the 2+ hours we waited to get inside (I was the fourth person to vote). When my mom and I got back outside, the line had stretched from the sidewalks all the way to the parking lot to the back of the building we voted at (at least 300-350 people). Early bird gets the worm, I suppose.

    *** SPOILERS ***
Voted for Obama and Mark Warner, btw.
    *** END SPOILERS ***

I'm about to go vote. I have a bad feeling I'll be in line for a few hours.
    ...and that's why.

Did they not offer early voting where you live?

They don't do it here either. I'll be going later today.

I went and it was pretty damn busy. It'll be interesting to see what the voter turnout for this election is.

No matter what it is, it will be underwhelming.

Minnesota is expecting a record turnout of around 600,000. Minnesota's population is ~5.5 million. Even if only 1/3 of the population is eligible to vote, that means only one third of those will be voting.

I already went to early voting, and was lucky to only have to wait about 3 minutes.

Or they know that voting is useless.

It's that sort of attitude that's awful!

                      NO!!!

They THINK that voting is useless. Hundreds of thousands of people THINK that voting is useless, that their vote doesn't count. But because they ALL think that, it DOES matter.

I never understood why people ragged on you so much until now

I am totally one of those 600,000.

In and out in about 10 minutes. :3

why do you want a higher voter turnout when a majority of americans dont know cheeseburgers from their genitals when it comes to politics?
