Today at my job, Food Lion, we were fresh out of two key MVP items (These are items we mark down at special prices with the aid of an MVP card): Red Seedless Grapes and Red Delicious Apples. I know we'll be getting some more tomorrow because it's a truck day and my my boss ordered some, but I began to feel saddened and emotionally fatigued when I had to tell person after person who asked me that we were out of those items, particularly the seedless grapes. As a matter of fact, one of the managers came to my department wielding two bags of "seeded" grapes because the customer believed that these were the ones on sale (Seeded grapes are much bigger in size). Anyway, once I deliver the devastating news to the customer, they ask me for a rain check, and for the first few customers, I wasn't really sure what to say because I didn't want to break company policy. My boss initially told me to direct them to customer service when addressed with this inquiry. Sigh, I'm so glad to be home right now.

It's like on ER when the doctors can't save their patient and they have to tell the family members that their loved one is dead.Last edited by Vanilla Iced Tea; 10-14-2008, 09:17 PM.
