I mainly got into Family Guy because my Korean roommate wouldn't stop watching it EVERY night on Adult Swim, but then the formula behind the jokes and their non-relevance to the stories really became apparent to me and the inherent laziness of that approach really struck me. On top of that, the jokes just steadily got less and less funny to me.
I like Family Guy but I was disappointed with the Star Wars episode. Seemed a lot of the jokes they did were obvious things that have been done before and they missed some jokes I expected them to do. I agree with Kire about the funniest part.
The show works as a good substitute for thinking when I don't want to be aware that I have work in the morning. I happen to catch episodes every now and then, but I don't go out of my way to see them.
I kept waiting for a Chris/Lois skin-crawling kiss, but no go.
So you're a fish out of water...
Keep swimming.
What else can you do?
