i dont support his fanatical position but i do think that video games have some impact on those with weaker minds. its one factor in a whole lot of factors that contribute to having a certain disposition, to say its a leader in the cause is ridicules, but to discount it entirely is equally so. i guess maturity comes into play in this argument, however a mental diseases is far difference which is the essence of pedophilia since you dont choose to like young'ons but your body chemistry makes you excited at that.

You claim to know two of them, and think that it has something to do with your body chemistry that makes you attracted to young children?

Most everything I've read about it says that the majority of pedophiles were themselves abused as children, and which is why it's an incredibly difficult cycle to break.

Chemistry in the fact that it triggers the pleasure or arousal areas of your brain, I guess, but it would be the same for someone interested in of-age hetero sex, or someone that's addicted to heroin.

It's not chemically based, and it's not in your genetics. It's a learned behaviour, and if you can prove otherwise, give me a link.

i doubt thats where it comes from else you could explain being gay that way which we know is 100% false.

I never claimed it wasn't a mental disorder. I've actually read the DSM-IV to look up my diagnoses, and just so happened to look up all the "philias"

All I said is that it wasn't chemically based. Some mental disoders are, I know that, but others (especially personality disorders) are based on reactions your psyche (for lack of a better word) has with past traumas or past events.

Yeah, "games" on the internet sure are wacky.

And thanks, Valk, for being lenient and not steering this back on track.

For the record, I'm not a pedophile, don't support child molestation, etc....I was merely playing devil's advocate and trying to make a point. I'm also glad people here are mature enough to not go on a negative rep spree after reading my arguments.
